Antiwar Protests Against US Warships To Continue

The Anti-War Coalition and Earthlife Africa will be having daily pickets at the Waterfront from 11am (until the warships have departed). We will be gathering at the traffic intersection (into the waterfront) as one turns off from the N1.

We are particularly concerned that the mass media has been playing up this as a fun spectacle for families to take their children to. We are also concerned at the defeaning silence from the Cosatu leaders on the turning of SA into a US military base. Counless innocent children and their families have been butchered by missions from this ship. We call on the US soldiers to mutiny and disarm their commanders, and to refuse to carry out orders.
