The vilification of the leader of the UK Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn, as an antisemite has intensified in the run up to the December 12 election in Britain. What makes this especially troubling, not to say bizarre, is that since he first became a member of parliament in 1983 Corbyn has been the most consistent campaigner against all forms of racism. ... read full story / add a comment

On the 20th September the Labour Party Conference will return to Manchester. To coincide with this there will be a demo organised by Stop The War and a counter conference organised by The Convention of the Left.

Manchester No Borders will be hosting a number of events including a block on the demo, workshops, a tour of Manchesters immigration system and a punk and poetry evening. This begins with 'Freedom of Movement' block on the STW demo on 20th Sept with the Anarchist Federation. All anti-authoritarians are invited to join the block. Give Asylum Seekers the right to stay and work- End deportations.

Many Asylum Seekers from around Ireland face deportation by the Irish state. Last year six mass deportations along with individual deportations took place to unsafe, war torn and corrupt countries were lives are in danger. The free movement of workers is claimed within the EU but now with reduced, curtailed rights, workers moving from one country to another find themselves discriminated against.
