Join the Radical Workers Bloc at the Brighton March for jobs Saturday 6/3 :: 12 noon :: the Level :: Brighton, UK

This demonstration, organised by Brighton and Hove Trades Union Council is billed as a “March for Jobs” – but we want more. Of course, we need to protect jobs. Every job lost to redundancy means more workload for those who remain. An injury to one really is an injury to all. But we also need to stop the cuts that take away vital services, hard-won by generations of struggle. ... read full story / add a comment

On Mayday 2009, we had a jam packed line-up...

The Whitechapel Anarchist Group stopped by to tell us about their busy weekend (Anarchist Rally, Space Hijackers action, Zine symposium and SmashEDO Mayday street party). We then heard from Sam Chase from Art Not Oil (part of Rising Tide UK) and their plans on celebrating BP's rescheduled centenary. Debra Shaw (of Rampart Collective, Radical Theory Reading Group and UEL fame) came on Dissident Island Disks to play us a couple tunes and have a friendly chat. The show ends with No Borders London discussing all things Calais, discussing the future No Borders camp that will take place their as well as the ongoing campaign to forge activist links with France on immigration issues.

The show also features the latest tune from the ever prolific and political Carbon Town Cryer, a quick and easy vegan falafel recipe, announcements, and, as always, lots of laughs and happy times.

In Ireland you can really get pushed around by the establishment and some pretty powerful people when you tackle bloodsports. You don't have to be a red hot activist, or break the law in any way whatsoever. Anyone who takes a public stand against State-backed cruelty to animals (hare coursing and fox hunting) is liable to have his or her life turned upside down! ... read full story / add a comment
