2012 is rapidly approaching and with it comes the Olympic Games in Britain. Many people might be wondering what issue anarchists could possibly have with the idea of teams of young people who have trained for years and poured their hearts and souls into the chance to show off the athletic achievements of humanity and their local communities. If we fail to explain our reasons behind our opposition then we risk being misrepresented as an enemy to sports, or to the achievements of young people, or even as just the mythical rent-a-mob which just hates everything.

... read full story / add a comment

... read full story / add a comment

"You may be sure that the people of London will take his statue to their hearts," William Hague told his audience this morning, as a statue of US president Ronald Reagan was unveiled. He couldn't have been further from the truth. The decision to allow Ronald Reagan a statue in central London is as humiliating as it is misguided, for four reasons. ... read full story / add a comment

... read full story / add a comment

Why didn't the weekly protests build up to a "Mass Protest" as one organisation called for? The Right to Work Campaign, the Anti-Capitalist Bloc -- what were they about? This analysis from a political activist and witness not aligned to any of the political groups looks at the context and the way in which the protests were organised, how the organisations interracted with each other and what, in his opinion, is needed to resist the attacks of capital here in Ireland. ... read full story / add a comment
