Rebels, called the M23, have taken Goma, the main city of North Kivu, one of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)'s eastern provinces. LUANDA, Nov 15, 2011 (IPS) - Adolfo Andre knows what he wants for his
country and says he will fight on until he gets it.
"What we need is the president to leave power, he’s been there for too
many years and it is time for him to go," he said defiantly.
"When I see my brothers and sisters living in these terrible conditions
when the country is so rich yet people are dying of hunger and from not
having clean water or medicines, I have to fight for this because I am

Horizon Community Association (HOCA), an LGBTI organisation in Rwanda, in collaboration with the Coalition of African Lesbians (CAL) and the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission (IGLHRC) calls on all human rights defenders, organisations, governments, civil society, globally, to immediately take action against a proposed article in the draft Penal Code Act in Rwanda which would criminalise homosexuality. The lower house of the Rwandan Parliament will hold its final debate on this draft code Wednesday 16 December 2009.
