There is a difference between strategic divergence and ideological opposition. Nevertheless, even in tendencies that have relatively high ideological affinity, this misunderstanding can be found and has consistently led to splits in both anarchism and in popular movements. Ο Αμερικανικός Αναρχοατομικισμός της περιόδου μέχρι τα μέσα του 1890 είναι πασιφιστικός, ηθικός και φιλοσοφικός αλλά «σαλονάτος», εξέφραζε δε τις τοπικές ιδιαιτερότητες του αναπτυσσόμενου κόσμου της άγριας δύσης που έφθινε αλλά όχι του νέου βιομηχανικού ονείρου στο οποίο μεταστοιχειώνονταν οι ΗΠΑ. Μια αρχική προσπάθεια εξήγησης και ανάλυσης του Αμερικανικού Αναρχισμού επιχειρήθηκε στην εισαγωγή που έκανα στο βιβλίο των εκδόσεων Σοφίτα για την Βολτερίν Ντε Κλαιρ «Γιατί είμαι αναρχική», συνέχισε με την μετάφραση του «Μανιφέστου του Πίτσμπουρκ», αλλά διαπίστωσα ότι υπήρχαν κενά που έπρεπε να καλυφθούν. In either case, it is by building working class struggle that the threat of Fascism will be best addressed. Struggle against a re-elected Trump would be necessary as he accelerates the class polarisation of society and moves further towards dictatorship.
