What I am writing is not something new, but I feel that the participation of women in revolutionary organizations is still minimal. As such, I feel a responsibility to urge women who are feeling stuck, alone, and are serious about being part of a larger movement of abolishing all forms of oppression to consider joining a political group. Cuando establecemos que el patriarcado es un sistema de dominación y opresión sobre nosotras las mujeres, entendemos nuestros cuerpos como cárceles porque en ellos se condensa todo el autoritarismo que es invisibilizado por la cotidianidad. Es preciso entender la relación directa entre la historia latinoamericana y lo que nos constituye como mujeres definidas en nuestro contexto actual. La historia de América Latina se funda en la conquista y en la permanente colonialidad. Por tanto, la construcción cultural e identitaria femenina en Latinoamérica va ligada a que nuestra condición como mujeres se sustenta en el dogma católico que aún permea nuestras vidas. La position de la NEFAC sur le patriarcat n’a jamais été claire. Si parfois on se revendique de l’anarka-féminisme, c’est jamais sans définir le terme ni faire référence à des auteur-e-s, ni même à un courant précis issu du mouvement social. On préfère plutôt s’en tenir à des positions «contre l’oppression des femmes», au même titre que lors d’enjeux précis contre le racisme ou contre l’homophobie. Mais il faut se rendre à l’évidence, la NEFAC n’a jamais été capable de dépasser cette position et d’avoir une réelle et effective unité théorique sur l’interrelation des systèmes d’oppression. Loin de moi l’idée d’en arriver à une conclusion ici. Ce texte se veut plutôt une exposition au meilleur de mes connaissances des idées théoriques qui existent déjà sur cette question pour en démocratiser la réflexion (souvent monopolisées par les milieux universitaires). Ainsi, j’espère qu’il amorcera une réflexion plus globale sur les enjeux des luttes de classes et que d’autres le complèteront ultérieurement.

On Thursday 12 February 2009 members of the Zabalaza Anarchist Communist Front participated in a protest-march held in Johannesburg as part of the Coalition Against Water Privatisation's Women and Water Campaign. The protest went from Library Gardens in central Johannesburg, a historic meeting point for protests in the city, to Mayor Amos Masondo's office in Braamfontein, near Constitution Hill. The march was to demand that Masondo withdraw his appeal of the pro-poor Johannesburg High Court ruling of Judge Tsoka, which ruled that the forced installation of pre-paid water meters and the prepayment water system is unlawful and unconstitutional, and that City of Johannesburg and Johannesburg Water provide residents of poor townships with 50 litres of free water per person per day. ... read full story / add a comment

Dieser Tage ist es durchaus üblich, eine Kritik des "Mainstream"- oder "Mittelklasse"-Feminismus von AnarchistInnen oder anderen revolutionären, und auch nicht-so-revolutionären Linken zu hören. Insbesondere AnarchistInnen kritisieren oft schnell jede feministische Analyse, die keine Klassenanalyse hat. Dieser Artikel argumentiert, dass es wichtig ist, für den Feminismus in seinem eigenen Recht zu kämpfen, und dass, wenn es darum geht Sexismus zu beenden, ein ständiges Beharren auf Klasse nur zu einer Ablenkung von der Tatsache führen kann, dass wir als AnarchistInnen eindeutig den Feminismus unterstützen müssen. Anstatt uns von anderen FeministInnen zu distanzieren oder immer unsere Unterstützung zu modifizieren, sollte sich unser Schwerpunkt hin zur Entwicklung und Förderung unserer eigenen Art eines anarchistischen Feminismus entwickeln.

Last year, in Ireland, a pregnant woman carrying a foetus which could not survive was brought before the Irish courts. The state insisted that she carry it to term. That is what Ireland’s anti-abortion law meant for Miss “D”, a 17 year old in the care of the Health Services Executive. She was four months pregnant when her foetus was diagnosed with anencephaly. The outlook for individuals with this is extremely poor; stillbirth or death a few hours after birth. As the Choice Ireland group said at the time “No woman should have to endure the trauma of carrying to full term a child who will not live more than a few hours. By preventing “Miss D” from travelling to Britain for an abortion the Irish government are defining women as uterine incubators rather than individuals entitled to basic human rights”.
