Παρ’ όλες τις διώξεις και τις παρενοχλήσεις από τις αρχές, η Πάρσονς συνέχισε και κατά τα τελευταία χρόνια της ζωής της να δίνει φλογερές ομιλίες σε απεργούς εργάτες, να στηρίζει αγώνες και να καλεί σε κατάληψη των μέσων παραγωγής. Χαρακτηριστικά είχε δηλώσει πως “Η αντίληψή μου για την απεργία είναι πως δεν πρέπει να καλούμε σε μια απεργία, ώστε να απεργήσουμε απλά, να βγούμε (από το εργοστάσιο) και να πεθάνουμε της πείνας, αλλά να παραμείνουμε μέσα (στο εργοστάσιο) και να καταλάβουμε τα μέσα και την ιδιοκτησία που είναι απαραίτητα για την παραγωγή“. read full story / add a comment

Ο Αμερικανικός Αναρχοατομικισμός της περιόδου μέχρι τα μέσα του 1890 είναι πασιφιστικός, ηθικός και φιλοσοφικός αλλά «σαλονάτος», εξέφραζε δε τις τοπικές ιδιαιτερότητες του αναπτυσσόμενου κόσμου της άγριας δύσης που έφθινε αλλά όχι του νέου βιομηχανικού ονείρου στο οποίο μεταστοιχειώνονταν οι ΗΠΑ. Μια αρχική προσπάθεια εξήγησης και ανάλυσης του Αμερικανικού Αναρχισμού επιχειρήθηκε στην εισαγωγή που έκανα στο βιβλίο των εκδόσεων Σοφίτα για την Βολτερίν Ντε Κλαιρ «Γιατί είμαι αναρχική», συνέχισε με την μετάφραση του «Μανιφέστου του Πίτσμπουρκ», αλλά διαπίστωσα ότι υπήρχαν κενά που έπρεπε να καλυφθούν. Σε αυτό το τρίτο μέρος επιχειρείται η αποτύπωση του χρονικού της διάσπασης μέσα στο Αναρχικό κίνημα των ΗΠΑ ώστε να γίνουν πιο ξεκάθαρα τα αίτια που οδήγησαν σε αυτή μέσα σε μια ταραγμένη περίοδο που ο Αναρχισμός στις ΗΠΑ αποτελούσε ένα σημαντικό πολιτικό κίνημα. read full story / add a comment

À l’été 2021, le gouvernement du Québec officialisait son rejet du projet d’usine de liquéfaction du gaz naturel de GNL Québec après avoir longuement persisté à le promouvoir. Cette volteface sur un projet évalué à 14 milliards $ est le résultat de plusieurs années de luttes écologistes. Concrètement, ce sont de petits collectifs populaires locaux, organisés sur la base d’assemblées, qui ont réussi à faire pencher la balance. Devant eux se dressaient un promoteur, un État et des élu-e-s qui ont dépensé des millions $ dans une bataille qui leur était annoncée gagnée d’avance par un gouvernement conquis à leurs idées. read full story / add a comment

In either case, it is by building working class struggle that the threat of Fascism will be best addressed. Struggle against a re-elected Trump would be necessary as he accelerates the class polarisation of society and moves further towards dictatorship. Struggle against a President Biden would explode the poisonous identification of the Left with the Democratic Party that Republicans make and from which Fascists benefit. read full story / add a comment
