Those who are oppressed within the working class build their own autonomous organizations, fighting for the specific demands of women, queers, people of color, immigrants, indigenous, students, youth, the disabled, and other groups. From Saturday, April 25 to Sunday, April 26, members of the anarchist organization Common Action met in Seattle, WA for our fourth general assembly. Members from Seattle, Bremerton, Tacoma and Olympia were in attendance, as well as a guest from Portland. Que dire maintenant de la grève générale illimitée qui perdure depuis le 9 mars 2009? La grève a été déclenchée par le SPUQ dans le cadre de la négociation d’un nouveau contrat de travail. Rapidement, des associations étudiantes ont rejoint ce mouvement. Pendant la première semaine d’avril, plus de 30 000 étudiantes et étudiants et tout le corps professoral font la grève.

Un mois de lock-out et ça se poursuit pour les travailleurs-euses du Journal Le Réveil qui cherchent à attirer la solidarité des gens de la région et des commerçant-e-s pour le boycott du journal produit par les cadres et l'agence QRI de Quebecor en contournant vicieusement la loi anti-scab du code du travail. Jusqu'à maintenant 21 organismes et entreprises ont pris la décision de boycotter les annonces du Réveil. Ville-Saguenay, qui y achetait annuellement pour 130 000$ de publicité, a récemment annoncé qu'elle diminuerait ses annonces de moitié durant le conflit, en donnant pour raison de ce semi-boycott que les conseillers-ères et le maire étaient divisé-e-s sur la question. De nombreux syndicats et organismes, dont la Commission Scolaire de la Jonquière et la Centrale des Syndicats du Québec régionale, ont pris position en solidarité avec les lock-outé-e-s. La CSQ a distribué des affichettes indiquant le refus du Réveil au camelot à ses 4000 syndiqué-e-s dans la région. La CSN, à laquelle les travailleurs-euses du Réveil sont syndiqué-e-s, a produit des milliers d'autocollant à poser sur les boîtes à lettre pour indiquer le boycott du journal. read full story / add a comment
