A luta do povo líbio, que é parte da onda de rebeliões populares que se espalha como fogo em todo o mundo árabe, está adquirindo um caráter verdadeiramente dramático, com o povo que segue avançando sua luta contra um regime decidido a permanecer no poder por todos os meios. Gadaffi, pese o seu passado como uma dor de cabeça para os Estados Unidos, se converteu em um aliado chave para a Guerra contra o Terrorismo, a qual foi corroborada pela torpe e tardia reação dos Estados Unidos ante os eventos na Líbia, assim como pela igualmente tardia suspensão da União Européia de seu considerável comércio de armas com o regime líbio. Ainda que os Estados Unidos e as potências ocidentais pareçam re-descobrir que, depois de tudo, não lhes agradava tanto Gadaffi (depois de uma década de relações amistosas), começaram a falar de uma possível intervenção e porta aviões dos Estados Unidos tem se aproximado das costas líbias. Os resultados que poderiam ter semelhante aventura seriam horrendos. Entretanto, os Estados Unidos e seus aliados do Ocidente exploram as formas para assegurar que esta rebelião, tanto na Líbia quanto no resto do mundo árabe, não se comporte de forma revolucionaria e assegurar que seus interesses econômicos e estratégicos sejam servidos da melhor maneira possível em um cenário pós-Gadaffi. Det libyske folks kamp, som udgør en del af den oprørsbølge som spreder sig som en steppebrand i hele den arabiske verden, har taget en virkelig dramatisk drejning. Folket fortsætter og udvider kampen imod et regime, som er villigt til at bruge alle tænkelige midler for at fastholde magten. Gaddafi er, på trods af sin fortid som torn i øjet på USA, blevet en vigtig allieret i ‘krigen mod terror’. Det viste sig bl.a. ved USAs langsomme og klodsede reaktion, på de begivenheder som udfoldede sig i Libyen og ved EUs langsommelighed i forhold til at suspendere deres betragtelige våbenhandel med det libyske regime. Mens USA og de øvrige vestlige lande, for at pleje deres offentlige omdømme, forsøger at genskabe indtrykket af, at de ikke bryder sig om Gaddafi (efter årtiers venskabelige relationer), er man begyndt at tale om muligheden for en militær intervention, og amerikanske hangarskibe er blevet sendt til farvandet ud for den libyske kyst. Resultatet af en sådan beslutning vil, for at sige det mildt, være katastrofal. I mellemtiden forsøger USA og deres vestlige allierede at finde måder, hvorpå man kan forhindre at oprøret i Libyen og de arabiske masser udvikler sig i en egentlig revolutionær retning. Samtidig har de fokus på hvordan de bedst muligt sikrer at deres økonomiske og strategiske interesser bliver forsvaret i et post-Gaddafi scenarie. Walka Libijczyków, część fali ludowych powstań rozprzestrzeniających się jak ogień po całym świecie arabskim, staje się dramatyczna. Lud mierzy się z reżimem, który uparł się, by utrzymać się u władzy, niezależnie od środków.

Kaddafi, pomimo iż w przeszłości był cierniem w boku władz USA, stał się kluczowym sojusznikiem "Wojny z Terroryzmem". Dlatego reakcja USA na wydarzenia w Libii była tak spóźniona i niezręczna. Również Unia Europejska długo czekała z zawieszeniem pokaźnego handlu bronią z libijskim reżimem. USA i inne siły Zachodu odkrywają na nowo (na użytek swoich publicznych wizerunków), że w sumie nie lubią Kaddafiego. Dzieje się tak po całej dekadzie przyjaznych stosunków z dyktatorem. Rozpoczęły się rozmowy na temat możliwej interwencji, a lotniskowce marynarki wojennej USA zostały przesunięte na wody nieopodal wybrzeży Libii. Wynik takiej interwencji były przynajmniej katastrofalny. W międzyczasie, USA wraz ze swoimi zachodnimi sojusznikami szukają sposobów, by powstania mas arabskich i libijskich nie zakończyły się rewolucyjnym porządkiem, oraz by upewnić się, że interesy ekonomiczne i strategiczne mocarstw nadal będą chronione w świecie po Kaddafim.

La lluita del poble libi, que és part de l’onada de revoltes populars que s’escampa com foc a tot el món àrab, està adquirint un caràcter veritablement dramàtic, amb el poble que segueix avançant la seva lluita contra un règim decidit a romandre en el poder per tots els mitjans necesarios.Gadaffi, malgrat la seva passat com un mal de cap per als EUA, s’ha convertit en un aliat clau per a la Guerra contra el Terrorisme, cosa que ha estat corroborat per la maldestre i tardana reacció dels EUA davant els esdeveniments a Líbia, així com per la igualment tardana suspensió de la UE de la seva considerable comerç en armes amb el règim libi. Mentre els EUA i les potències occidentals semblen re-descobrir que, després de tot, no els agradava tant Gadaffi (després d’una dècada de relacions amistoses), ha començat a parlar d’una possible intervenció i portaavions dels EUA s’han aproximat a les costes libias.Los resultats que podria tenir semblant aventura serien horribles. Mentrestant, els EUA i els seus aliats d’Occident exploren les maneres per assegurar que aquesta revolta, tant a Líbia com a la resta del món àrab, no es tanqui de manera revolucionària, i assegurar que els seus interessos econòmics i estratègics siguin servits de la millor manera possible en un escenari post-Gadaffi. The struggle of the Libyan people, as part of the wave of popular rebellions spreading like fire in all of the Arab world, is taking a really dramatic turn, with the people advancing their struggle against a regime bent on staying in power by whatever means necessary. Gadaffi, in spite of his past as a thorn in the side of the US, had became a key ally in their War on Terror, as was proved by the late and clumsy reaction of the US to the events unfolding in Libya and the late suspension by the EU of their considerable trade in weapons with the Libyan regime. While the US and the Western powers re-discover, for public image purposes, that they really did not like Gadaffi after all (after a decade of friendly relations), talks have started about a possible intervention and US carriers have moved into waters close to the Libyan shores. The result of such a prospect would be terrible to say the least. In the meantime, the US and their Western allied are exploring the way to make sure that the revolt of the Libyan and the Arab masses does not settle down in revolutionary terms, as well as making sure that their economic and strategic interests are served in the best possible way in the post-Gadaffi scenario.
