Capitalism in 2021 still hasn’t defeated the coronavirus pandemic and the downward trend in wage rises in advanced countries hasn’t changed. Social inequality continues to increase, while racism and misogyny are entrenched state policy. In many countries, capitalist democracy is crumbling. The radical workers’ movement which is being born is still young and weak, but the material conditions are helping it develop. This workers’ movement needs to unite internationally in order to overthrow capitalism and end all oppression worldwide. She compares U.S. white supremacy to South Asian caste and to the Nazis' anti-Jewish laws. However, she says little or nothing about caste's relation to class and exploitation. Hoy 8 de marzo conmemoramos el Día Internacional de las Mujeres Trabajadoras, fecha histórica en la cual levantamos la lucha por los derechos políticos, sociales, económicos y sexuales de las mujeres, lesbianas, y personas transgénero de las clases oprimidas, por terminar de raíz con las violencias sistemáticas del patriarcado y por la lucha revolucionaria obrera, popular y anticolonial.

Propuesta por primera vez por un grupo de mujeres socialistas en la Segunda Conferencia Internacional de Mujeres Socialistas de 1910 en Copenhague, el día tuvo la inicial intención de promover los derechos civiles de las mujeres, para luego convertirse en una jornada de agitación, movilización, protesta, y huelga por y para la vida y libertad de las mujeres y disidentes del sistema de género a lo largo y ancho del globo. Desde la protesta por los derechos laborales y políticos de las mujeres en los Estados industriales a comienzos del siglo XX, hasta la revuelta por el pan y la paz de las mujeres trabajadoras que dio inicio, junto a otras huelgas y demostraciones, a la Revolución Rusa de febrero de 1917, el 8 de marzo como Día Internacional de las Mujeres fue lentamente consolidado por medio de la lucha activa de las mujeres de la clase trabajadora, razón inicial por la cual rescatamos tan gran logro que nos permite no sólo recordar las conquistas del movimiento feminista frente a la opresión patriarcal, sino también apropiarnos de los debates y propuestas que plantearon nuestras antecesoras para construir espacios que nos permitan levantar la voz frente a las injusticias y las violencias de este sistema de dominación capitalista, patriarcal y colonial. read full story / add a comment

Σήμερα σκοπεύουμε να θέσουμε τέλος στη συστηματική βία της πατριαρχίας και να στηρίξουμε τον επαναστατικό εργατικό, λαϊκό και αντι-αποικιοκρατικό αγώνα. Κατόπιν πρότασης από ομάδα σοσιαλιστών γυναικών στα πλαίσια του Β’ Διεθνούς Συνεδρίου Σοσιαλιστών Γυναικών που πραγματοποιήθηκε το 1910 στην Κοπεγχάγη, η ημερομηνία αυτή είχε αρχικά ως σκοπό την προώθηση των πολιτικών δικαιωμάτων των γυναικών. Today, March 8, we commemorate International Working Women's Day, a historic date on which we raise the struggle for the political, social, economic, and sexual rights of women, lesbians, and transgender people of the oppressed classes. Today, we aim to put an end to the systematic violence of patriarchy and support the revolutionary workers', popular and anti-colonial struggle. First proposed by a group of socialist women at the Second International Conference of Socialist Women in 1910 in Copenhagen, the day was initially intended to promote women's civil rights. Later, it became a day of agitation, mobilization, protest, and strike for the lives and liberty of women and dissidents of the gender system across the globe. From the protest for women's labor and political rights in the industrial states at the beginning of the 20th century to the revolt for bread and peace by working women that began, along with other strikes and demonstrations, the Russian Revolution of February 1917, March 8 as International Women's Day was slowly consolidated through the active struggle of working-class women. Therefore, we rescue such great attainment that allows us to remember the achievements of the feminist movement against patriarchal oppression. March 8 also allows us to appropriate the debates and proposals our predecessors had and build spaces that enable us to raise our voices against the injustices and violence of this capitalist, patriarchal and colonialist, system of domination. read full story / add a comment

We are living in a world that for most people is broken and that has broken most people. It is not a god given world, but one that has been constructed by those in power and that has left most people mired in deprivation. Under COVID-19, this world has sunk to new lows. All is not lost though. There has historically been a section within the progressive movement – in different parts of the world and in South Africa – based around forms of radically democratic socialism that has not only tapped into the righteous anger of the working class, but has also sought to create a home and sense of belonging for people based on progressive values and principles such as mutual aid, solidarity and even love. If we want a better world, we need to revive the popularity of the types of politics, ethics, values, principles and practices that formed the essence – at their best – of such movements and update it for the context of the 21st century. read full story / add a comment

The workplace is the source of the capitalists’ power, so the struggle in that location is decisive. It is the vehicle for fighting the economic inequality that is driving down living standards for US workers for the first time since the Great Depression and fuelling the growth of Fascism. It is, though, much more than that. The struggle in the workplace can unite the multi-racial, multicultural and gender diverse working class in the fight against all forms of social oppression and build the solidarity needed to make the revolution to overthrow capitalism as a whole. read full story / add a comment

Δεν θα ξεχάσουμε τον Alexandre Skirda, τον σημαντικό ιστορικό της Ρωσικής Επανάστασης, αλλά και τον αναρχικό αγωνιστή που, από τη δεκαετία του 1960, συμμετείχε ενεργά στην Groupe d’études et action anarchiste (Ομάδα Αναρχικής Μελέτης και Δράσης), της οποίας ήταν ο ιδρυτής από κοινού με τον Roland Biard. Η ομάδα ιδρύθηκε όταν και οι δύο ήταν 19 χρόνων, και έπαιξε ενεργό και σημαντικό ρόλο στο κύμα διαδηλώσεων και άλλων κινητοποιήσεων ενάντια στον πόλεμο της Γαλλίας στην Αλγερία εκείνη την εποχή.
