Este artigo examina a história inicial do anarquismo e do sindicalismo revolucionário na África do Sul, uma sociedade colonial que se industrializou no final do século XIX, e nos arredores da região sul-africana. A África do Sul era caracterizada, nessa época, por um movimento sindical militante, mas que era dividido nacional e racialmente, e pela opressão nacional das pessoas de cor, que constituíam a maioria da população. Em oposição à opressão nacional e à segregação, mas também assumindo uma posição crítica ao nacionalismo africano e de cor, os anarquistas e os sindicalistas revolucionários desenvolveram uma análise da opressão nacional cada vez mais sofisticada, recrutaram e treinaram um quadro multirracial, formaram sindicatos gerais pioneiros e revolucionários contra as pessoas de cor e continuaram a influenciar o trabalho regional, branco e negro, e a esquerda, em geral, após a formação do Partido Comunista da África do Sul (South African Communist Party – CPSA) em 1921.

Le 11 septembre 1993,en plein coup d'Etat appuyé par les USA, Antoine IIzméry a été tiré hors de l'église par des gens impliqués dans le coup d'Etat et assassiné en plein jour. Il participait à une commémoration du massacre de fidèles à l'Eglise Saint Jean Bosco, massacre qui avait eu lieu, 5 ans plurs tôt, le 11 septembre 1988." read full story / add a comment

Derrick Jensen represents the current peak synthesis of primitivist and insurrectionist thought. And while both trends are declining within anarchism thanks to the global upswing of mass struggle against austerity, like in Egypt, Wisconsin, Spain, and so on, such trends are still able to get a good event together in Minneapolis, like the hundred or so people who attended the showing of END: CIV, a movie inspired by Jensen’s writing, and like it, a dead end for any relevant conversation on the present moment. read full story / add a comment

Reseña del libro "Pasado y Presente del Anarquismo y del Anarcosindicalismo en Colombia" (CILEP, Colección Utopía Libertaria, Ed. Anarres, 2011). El libro tiene dos partes fundamentales: el pasado y el presente. El pasado es abordado por los investigadores Mauricio Flórez Pinzón y Diego Paredes Goicochea con una fresca mirada sobre la historia del movimiento anarquista colombiano en la década del ’20, época de oro del movimiento libertario, el cual jamás volvería a tener el mismo peso posteriormente. Después de abordar el pasado del movimiento, Luis Alfredo Burbano aborda los problemas del movimiento popular en el presente y qué rol cabe al movimiento libertario en este panorama. read full story / add a comment
