April 28 is a day of nation-wide mobilization against the austerity measures and fiscal adjustments of that are eroding workers’ rights. Demonstrations and a general strike will be occurring, led by those who are being oppressed in Brazil, especially workers. We know that the effectiveness of these actions depend on the participation of the base in the preparation and organization. The strength of workers lies in direct action — the strike, the picket, the interruption of traffic, the march — in the workplace, in schools, and in neighborhoods; progress has stagnated in the summits convened by central unions that have capitulated to “business as usual” and ceased to be effective in their bureaucratic routines, congressional negotiations, and lobbying.

Είμαστε αναγκασμένοι να βγούμε στο δρόμο να απαντήσουμε στις επιταγές του κεφαλαίου. Να απαιτήσουμε υπογραφή συλλογικών συμβάσεων, μείωση του ορίου των απολύσεων, κατάργηση του υποκατώτατου μισθού, επαναφορά των τριετιών, καλύτερες και ασφαλέστερες συνθήκες εργασίας. Να παλέψουμε ενάντια στην μαύρη εργασία, να διεκδικήσουμε επιδόματα για ανέργους. Οφείλουμε να βγούμε με επιθετικά προτάγματα στο δρόμο, μέσα από μαχητικά σωματεία βάσης στους χώρους δουλειάς. Να ξανακάνουμε τον συνδικαλισμό επικίνδυνο για τα αφεντικά, μακριά από τους εργατοπατέρες-γραφειοκράτες συνδικαλιστές (ΓΣΕΕ, ΠΑΜΕ). Όσο για εκείνους τους μικρόψυχους που λένε ότι, η ΓΣΕΕ θυμήθηκε την Κυριακάτικη αργία επειδή ο άθλιος κομματικός, εργοδοτικός μηχανισμός της ΠΑΣΚΕ που ήταν σε κατάσταση διάλυσης στην Ομοσπονδία Ιδιωτικών Υπαλλήλων κάνει προσπάθειες να ξαναστηθεί (με τις πλάτες και των άλλων κομματικών παρατάξεων που τους έδωσαν τη θέση του προέδρου στην ΟΙΥΕ).... ε, τι να πούμε; read full story / add a comment

Inter city bus workers in Ireland launched widespread secondary pickets at 4am this morning. Solidarity from transport workers at the other services picketed meant that most of the country ground to a halt as morning rush hour approached, almost all trains, Dublin bus and light rail services did not operate.
