This text was composed together by several active anti-authoritarian activists from Ukraine. We do not represent one organization, but we came together to write this text and prepare for a possible war. Besides us, the text was edited by more than ten people, including participants in the events described in the text, journalists who checked the accuracy of our claims, and anarchists from Russia, Belarus, and Europe. We received many corrections and clarifications in order to write the most objective text possible. If war breaks out, we do not know if the anti-authoritarian movement will survive, but we will try to do so. In the meantime, this text is an attempt to leave the experience that we have accumulated online. At the moment, the world is actively discussing a possible war between Russia and Ukraine. Όπως κάθε παγκόσμια υπερδύναμη που σέβεται τον εαυτό της, έτσι και οι ΗΠΑ ξέρουν ότι η παραμικρή ένδειξη αδυναμίας θα δώσει κουράγιο στους ανταγωνιστές της. Τα πράγματα έχουν ζορίσει όμως και κάθε κίνηση απαιτεί ιδιαίτερη προσοχή: Οι ΗΠΑ γνωρίζουν καλά ότι οι εποχές που έκαναν ανενόχλητες τα cowboyλίκια τους έχουν περάσει ανεπιστρεπτί και βλέπουν τον «Κόκκινο Δράκο» της Κίνας να ετοιμάζεται να ανέβει στην κορυφή της πυραμίδας. Οι αναρχικοί ήταν εξαιρετικά σκληροί στην κριτική τους προς τον Αρσίνωφ. Ο παλιός φίλος του Νέστωρ Μάχνο έγραψε πικρόχολα ότι «ήταν ματαιόδοξος και επιζητούσε εξουσία. Άγνωστος στη ρωσική επανάσταση μέχρις ότου ξύπνησε από την άχρηστη εργασία του στη Μόσχα το 1919 στη θύελλα των επαναστατικών πράξεων... αργότερα πήγε μακριά για να γράψει την ιστορία της Μαχνοβτσίνας. Κατά συνέπεια, έγινε ένα από τα ενεργά στελέχη του διεθνούς αναρχικού κινήματος και άρχισε να σκέφτεται τον εαυτό του ως τον ηγέτη του αναρχισμού, μια θέση που την επιδίωξε και βρήκε τα θεωρητικά θεμέλια γι’ αυτήν. Τον Μάη του 1921 έκλεισαν από τις μπολσεβίκικες αρχές οι περισσότερες λέσχες των αναρχικών στη Μόσχα, ως αποτέλεσμα μαζικών συλλήψεων μελών αναρχικών ομάδων. Κατά τη διάρκεια του ίδιου μήνα στην πρωτεύουσα της χώρας πραγματοποιήθηκαν 66 κατασταλτικές επιχειρήσεις εναντίον των αναρχικών. Οι περισσότεροι εργαζόμενοι ήταν νέοι αναρχικοί, που πάλευαν ενάντια στην εκμετάλλευση των από πάνω (10 έως 18 ώρες την ημέρα, για ένα ξεροκόμματο και χωρίς βασικές κοινωνικές εγγυήσεις για την κοινωνική πρόνοια), καθώς και την τρομοκρατία της κυβέρνησης. Σε συνθήκες φτώχειας, συνεχούς ταπείνωσης της καθημερινής ζωής και βάρβαρης καταστολής, η τσαρική κυβέρνηση απαντούσε βίαια σε οποιαδήποτε προσπάθεια των εργαζομένων για την προάσπιση των συμφερόντων τους, και έτσι τα σαμποτάζ και οι μαχητικές δράσεις ήταν συχνά ο μόνος τρόπος να δωθεί μια κατάλληλη απάντηση στη βία. Κυρίως προλεταριακής σύνθεσης, το αναρχικό κομμουνιστικό κίνημα, στην πραγματικότητα, ήταν απόρροια ενός υπερήφανου λαού, που υπερηφανευόταν για το ότι δεν ήθελε να είναι ένας μισθωτός σκλάβος υπό το μαστίγιο του αφέντη. read full story / add a comment

On 1 March, 1921, the Kronstadt Soviet rose in revolt against the regime of the Russian “Communist” Party. The Civil War was effectively over, with the last of the White armies in European Russia defeated in November, 1920. The remaining battles in Siberia and Central Asia were over the territorial extent of what would become the USSR the following year. Economic conditions, though, remained dire. In response, strikes broke out across Petrograd in February, 1921. The sailors of Kronstadt sent a delegation to investigate the strikes.

Le 1er mars 1921, le Soviet de Cronstadt se soulève contre le régime du Parti “Communiste” de Russie. La Guerre Civile est finie, ce qu’il restait des armées Blanches en Russie occidentale a été défait en novembre 1920. Les dernières batailles en Sibérie et en Asie centrale se déroulent sur l'étendue territoriale de ce qui deviendra un an plus tard l'URSS. La situation économique, cependant, reste désastreuse. Am 1. März 1921 erhob sich der Sowjet (russischer Begriff für einen basisdemokratisch gewählten Arbeiter*innen- und/oder Soldatenrat) der Marinefestung Kronstadt vor den Toren Petrograds (heute St. Petersburg) gegen das Regime der russischen “kommunistischen” Partei. Der russische Bürgerkrieg war effektiv zu Ende, da die letzte der konterrevolutionären weißen Armeen im europäischen Teil Russlands im November 1920 besiegt worden war. In den verbleibenden Schlachten in Sibirien und Zentralasien ging es um die territoriale Ausdehnung der sich formierenden UdSSR. Die wirtschaftlichen Bedingungen waren jedoch weiterhin katastrophal. Als Reaktion darauf brachen im Februar 1921 in Petrograd Streiks aus. Die Matrosen von Kronstadt schickten eine Delegation, um die Streiks zu untersuchen. read full story / add a comment

Το 1925, η GPU (Κεντρική Πολιτική Διεύθυνση) του Gomel συνέλαβε τον εργαζόμενο συντήρησης σιδηροδρόμων Korostelev στο τμήμα διπλής γραμμής Yakimovka (στο 446 χιλιόμετρο του Δυτικού Σιδηροδρόμου). Η πρώτη σελίδα του αρχειοθετημένου φακέλου του εν λόγω κρατούμενου είναι βασικά ένα κομμάτι ενός φύλλου χαρτιού με την αρχή μιας χειρόγραφης βιογραφίας ενός F. D. Korostelev. Το φύλλο είναι τσαλακωμένο και καλυμμένο από καφέ κηλίδες, πιθανώς ίχνη αίματος, το οποίο μας επιτρέπει να υποθέσουμε ότι χρησιμοποιήθηκε η «φυσική ενεργή μέθοδος ανάκρισης» (όπως ήταν γνωστή τότε). If you had asked people in Belarus how long the dictatorship of Lukashenko was left in early 2020, they would have looked at you like a fool. In a respected dictatorship, such questions are not asked, because you know what can happen. And in general, it so happens that the reign of the great leader is timeless. But the situation has changed so radically over the last 8 months that Belarusians took to the streets and for the first time in the new history of Belarus they fought back the police in at least 33 different cities of the country. Today Belarusians have woken up in a new country. In it, people openly talk about hatred for the government and prepare for a violent confrontation with the police and state. They discuss online and live effective methods of struggle. Several factories went on strike the day after the elections. And although the electoral commission reports about the victory of the dictator once again, objectively speaking, Lukashenko lost the election. He lost the election not to some certain candidate, but rather to the Belarusian people, who said that 26 years was enough. How has Belarus turned from a stable dictatorship, where the most peaceful people live, into a protest center in Europe? read full story / add a comment

Ukraine ended the 1980s as one of the most advanced parts of the Soviet super-power with a developed machine-building industry. Thirty years later, Ukraine’s major economic indicators are on a par with many Third World countries. The country is fundamentally dependent on the financial, political, and military support of the West, with politics dominated by a handful of powerful oligarchs, right-wing paramilitaries regularly marching on the streets, and a part of the country annexed by neighboring Russia and another part torn through by the frontline. It can rightfully be called the northernmost country of the Global South.
