L'omicidio di Floyd non è un episodio isolato. Lo scorso anno la polizia americana uccise 1099 persone, una parte considerevole delle quali era nera. Il 99% di queste uccisioni è rimasta impunita, un tasso allarmante, che nel continente americano è paragonabile solo a quello della Colombia, a dimostrazione del fatto che la violenza poliziesca – lungi dall'essere un'anomalia – è accettata dall'establishment statunitense, democratico o repubblicano che sia. Por Bruno Lima Rocha – 14 de junho de 2020 Ao longo das últimas duas semanas venho promovendo na coluna que produzo para algumas emissoras livres e comunitárias um debate direto e tranquilo. Trata-se de aderir ou não (fisicamente) aos atos antifascistas e antirracistas. Também abordo o tema da unidade possível e do leque de alianças desejável. Não me refiro em momento algum a quem está preocupado com a pandemia e como todas e todos nós, entendemos que a orientação da Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) para o isolamento social está correta. Se a preocupação maior for a de evitar a propagação do contágio por aglomeração e contato físico, não há sombra de dúvida que é uma posição sólida e honesta intelectualmente. Tampouco na crítica, jamais me refiro a individualidades e sempre a lideranças consolidadas, com cargos eletivos ou postos de direção em partidos e movimentos. Também fica a crítica para as celebridades e subcelebridades, acadêmicas, artísticas ou esportivas que, sem compromisso político, aproveitam momentos de organização social para se promover. read full story / add a comment

Πρέπει να οικοδομήσουμε οργανώσεις βάσης στους χώρους εργασίας και να μετατρέψουμε το συνδικαλιστικό κίνημα σε ένα οργανωμενο και μαχητικό κίνημα. Ενώ το καθήκον μας αυτή τη στιγμή είναι να συνεισφέρουμε στην ενοποποίηση των εμπροσθοφυλακών των αγωνιζόμενων αυτόχθονων και των Μαύρων κοινοτήτων στις ΗΠΑ, πρέπει ταυτόχρονα να είμαστε πεπεισμένοι ότι η όποια νίκη μας μπορεί να επιτευχθεί μόνο σε άλλο πεδίο. While our duty at the moment is to join the front lines defending indigenous people here and Black communities in the US, we must remain aware that our victory can only be achieved on another field. Ya la situación está volviendo a la "normalidad" poco a poco. Y van quedando claras algunas cosas. En primer lugar, la enorme solidaridad de nuestro pueblo que salió al cruce de la emergencia económica y organizó ollas populares, reparto de viandas, canastas... Cientos de organizaciones sociales, sindicales, vecinas y vecinos organizaron lo más elemental: enfrentar el hambre, pero no de cualquier manera sino con solidaridad y un claro sentido de clase. Se salió a poner el hombro en un momento complicado, donde reinaba el pánico y el aislamiento total. Con todas las medidas sanitarias de precaución, esa tarea se hizo y se hace. Porque la "emergencia sanitaria" podrá superarse totalmente en un tiempo; pero la emergencia del hambre va a perdurar bastante más, y todo parece indicar que se profundizará. read full story / add a comment

Em 25 de maio de 2020, George Floyd, um homem afro-americano de 46 anos de idade, foi assassinado por asfixia executada por um policial branco do Departamento de Polícia de Minneapolis (estado de Minnesota). O assassino foi o oficial de polícia Derek Chauvin, permanecendo por 8 minutos e 46 segundos sobre o pescoço da vítima. Os demais policiais, Tou Thao, J. Alexander Kueng e Thomas K. Lane foram cúmplices, sendo que Kueng ajudou a imobilizar o “suspeito”. O crime de George, tentar comprar cigarros com uma nota de 20 dólares, supostamente falsa. Para termos uma ideia de comparação, Donald Trump, o próprio, é um empresário picareta que quebrou seis vezes, entre 1991 e 2009 e “espertamente” não deixou na reta escapando das “leis”. Com bons advogados e excelentes tributaristas, o sistema de Justiça do Império é perfeito para o andar de cima. Desde então os EUA mergulharam numa panela de pressão, começando pela própria Minneapolis (ver https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Wz69m4hKsw) cujo estopim foi mais esse assassinato de outro homem negro. Neste artigo, faço uma modesta reflexão de contatos com as esquerdas daquele país que ainda é a potência hegemônica – embora decadente - sobre a nossa América Latina. read full story / add a comment

El asesinato de Floyd no es un hecho fortuito. El año pasado, 1099 personas fueron asesinadas por la policía en Estados Unidos, de los cuales muchísimos eran negros. 99% de estos asesinatos están en la más escandalosa impunidad. Una tasa alarmante que compite con las cifras de otras “lumbreras” de los derechos humanos como Colombia. The murder of Floyd is not a once-off incident. Last year 1,099 people were killed by the US police, of which a sizeable proportion are black. 99% of these murders remain in absolute impunity –an alarming impunity rate only rivalled by the likes of Colombia in the continent, which goes to demonstrate how police violence, far from an anomaly, is condoned by the US establishment. Sarò una sorta di bastian contrario, ma è già tanto se gli alunni hanno avuto la pazienza di seguire fino ad oggi la DaD. Secondo me, la didattica digitale non è efficace, tutt'altro. The crisis of the statist politics that dominated working-class politics -- social democracy, Marxism-Leninism, and anti-imperialist nationalism -- and the rise of neoliberalism, has aided the rediscovery of society-centred, anti-capitalist forms of bottom-up change “at a distance” from the state. This article critically assess the three main modes of “at a distance” politics: “outside-but-with” the state, which combines using the state with popular movements; “outside-and-despite” the state, aiming at disintegrating the system by building alternatives in its cracks; and “outside-and-against” the state, associated with anarchism/ syndicalism, rejects the state for building autonomous working class counter-power that can resist, then defeat, state and capital. While each mode has limits, the anarchist/ syndicalist approach is arguably the most convincing, and its implications are serious. Tenho de admitir, Bolsonaro é muito bom no que se propõe a fazer: desgoverno, tumulto no país e desinformação na sociedade. Ele é o que é, e sua existência plena é isso mesmo. Nem mais, nem menos, “taóquei!”. Ele e sua prole não se pretendem governantes, o ato de governo é como se fosse um condomínio e, infelizmente, o síndico é o próprio Jair Messias, e não Tim Maia. Nesse condomínio, a maior parte dos subsíndicos se comporta mais como xerifes de galeria do que como habitantes de um mesmo espaço. Ao contrário do que seria esperado, o síndico de discurso autoritário não é centralizador nem tem pulso forte ou mão de ferro. Ninguém pode aparecer mais do que ele e, menos ainda, assumir atos de responsabilidade. Esse síndico não faz nada e não deixa ninguém fazer muito. Não se mete com o tesoureiro, embora lembre a todo o momento que até esse pode ser demitido. read full story / add a comment

Θα παράγουν άντρες και γυναίκες ικανούς, σύμφωνα με τον Francisco Ferrer, “να εξελίσσονται χωρίς να σταματούν, να καταστρέφουν και να ανανεώνουν το περιβάλλον τους χωρίς διακοπή, ανανεώνοντας και τους εαυτούς τους · πάντοτε έτοιμοι να δεχτούν το καλύτερο, ευτυχισμένοι με το θρίαμβο των νέων ιδεών, που φιλοδοξούν να ζήσουν πολλές ζωές σε μια μόνο”. Σε αυτούς τους άνδρες και γυναίκες στηρίζεται η ελπίδα της ανθρώπινης προόδου. Σε αυτούς ανήκει το μέλλον. Και είναι, σε πολύ σημαντικό βαθμό, με τη δική μας δικαιοδοσία που πρέπει να ανοίξουμε το δρόμο.
