I am glad you agreed with "a lot" in my book review. However, you accuse me of "pathologizing Trump's psyche" and using the "medical model", particularly by referring to the DSM-5 manual.

As you can see in my review, I rely on Dr. Mary Trump's life experiences with Trump and his (her) family. I cite the Trump family system as well as psychoanalytic (psychodynamic) object-relations theory. Mary Trump also relies on the DSM and I refer to her citations. Personally I regard the DSM as a shallow and empiricist listing of sets of behaviors and thinking which are dysfunctional and disabling. So long as we do not take it for anything more, it can be useful. I quoted Mary Trump as saying that DSM labels were limited in their usefulness, requiring a great deal more knowledge of the subject (their internal life, dynamics, social networks, etc.) to fully understand a person "psyche" (to use your term). While I don't agree with the "medical model," I do think that human activity is an organic whole, involving social and biological factors: the mind ("psyche") is inseparable from the brain and the rest of the body, in its physical and social interactions.

That is the approach I have been using, both as a psychological evaluator and a theorist of the social psychopathology of capitalist society.
