Despite of the continuing threats of the state for weeks, despite the imposition of Dolmabahçe as a meeting place by DISK (Revolutionary Trade Unions’ Confederation), despite the fact that transportation from the Anatolian side of Istanbul was made impossible and Istanbul was under blockade with thousands of police and soldiers coming from other cities… Despite all of these obstacles 3 thousand people were able to arrive to Taksim Square and the others transformed the entire city to May Day places. May Day 2007 was the 30th year after the May Day 1977 massacre which was one of the highest points of the civil and official fascist terror leading to the military coup of 1980. This decisiveness was the best response to all class enemies - especially the coupists. While nationalism has been provoked, class collaborationism heightened and pro-coupist ideas were put as a solution, this answer was a consequence of class solidarity and revolutionary decisiveness in spite of its deficiencies and mistakes. The state recognized this and showed his real face. The demonstrators were attacked at every place they met, about 900 people were taken under custody and tens were injured. As a part of this rage Anarchist Communist Initiative was on the streets from Beşiktaş to Kabataş, from Taksim to Okmeydanı at the day of the struggle of labor. Let us increase the class struggle with the same spirit and decisiveness against those who are using nationalist hysterias to cover the anger of the workers against neoliberal policies, misery, imperialism and the competition to catch a share from the imperialist destruction.
