A "Zionist left" and a real left - two parallel lines that will never meet.

The "far-reaching compromise" of the Israeli Communist Party (and its front Hadash) who are pretending to be non-Zionists, and their like on the Zionist left is "two states for two peoples". It means: the existence of the State of Israel within the 1967 borders - the "Green Line", in which the Palestinian citizens are a minority.

Such a final arrangement requires the acceptance by the entire Palestinian public of relinquishing the right of return of the refugees displaced in the 1948 war, as their return would nullify the Jewish majority in the State of Israel and thereby abolish the control by the Jewish community there. The most far-reaching of them, like the ICP (and Hadash front), are even prepared for such an arrangement without the finality of the conflict conditioned on the Palestinian majority's declaration of relinquishing the right of return, provided that it is effectively prevented.

The vast majority of those pretending to be the "Zionist left" agree in the absence of a choice to return from most of the 1967 conquests, but not to complete withdrawal and an end of all control, and most of them do not even agree to withdraw without Palestinians relinquishing the right of return.

Without massive economic and political pressure there is no chance that the ruling Israeli elite backed by almost all its Jewish citizens will agree to a full withdrawal from most of the 1967 conquests still in its hands.

It seems that the present political entity of "one state" - non-secular, undemocratic, inegalitarian, and not of all its inhabitants - is likely to exist for a long time between the Jordan river and the Mediterranean.

The tiny one tenth of percent of the Israeli Jewish who are the real radical left like the majority of the Palestinians (who both still believe in "state") support the return of the refugees and replacing the present one apartheid state existing between the Jordan and the sea with one secular democratic state for all its inhabitants.
