Palestine-Israel, The joint struggle on the background of the third Intifada*

It was not a sudden eruption as the previous Intifadas'' uprisings. It is a gradual increasing of activities interwoven with the increased world wide involvement with the B.D.S. calls to boycott Israel. The Israeli security forces focus the threats and warning of the anarchists against the wall activists about our contribution to the de-legitimizing of Israel. The extreme right Israelis who sense the increasing pressures on the prime minister who tend to yield when pressure is too high, shift their support to the more to the right (and principled) party. The activities for the cleansing transfer of Palestinians from the choicest areas continue even when some steps are curtailed due to resistance and international pressure. [Italiano]

‎Bil'in‎

The people of Bil'in continue to struggle against the wall and occupation, and Israelis and internationals continue to struggle in solidarity, even on this winter solstice. Last week the army started shooting just as the protesters reached the wall. They kept shooting large amounts of gas, mostly at low angles and directly at demonstrators. They shot as far back as the ambulance waiting behind, while those at the front were cutting chunks of barbed wire. This week, the heavy rain paused just in time for the demo, which was relatively quiet, as the wind spread the skunk smell thoroughly among the protesters. Notable guests last week: a Japanese medical mission; this week: an aborigine flag. Counter demo: settler kids, standing on the scaffolding of a new building being built on the lands of Bil'in behind the wall, shouting "A Jew is a mentsh, an Arab is a son of a bitch".

A Conversation between a soldier mounted on the wall and a young local protester standing right under him:
Soldier: Go home!
Protester: This is my home!
S: This isn't your home.
P: This is my land.
S: No, it's mine
P: It's my land
S: Get out of here or I'll put a bullet through your head.

South of Hebron Hill

Saturday, 22-12-12 This morning at 10.30 am three Palestinians, Eisa Shamisty, Azmi Shamisty e Mahmoud Shamisty, were arrested while working a land of Palestinian property near the Israeli outpost of Havat Ya'er close to the settlement of Suseya. On the place were about forty Palestinians including men, women and children together with internationals and Israeli activists.
After about ten minutes of work, around twenty settlers arrived and tried to chase the workers away with harassments and physical aggressions. Six army jeeps and the border police, called by the same settlers, reached the place. The army declared the place "closed military area" and kept at distance Palestinians, internationals and Israeli activists. It was not forbidden to settlers to stay inside that area. With the three Palestinians two Israeli activists were arrested as well.
The policy of restrictions, closures and demolitions carried out by the Israeli army, combined with the continuous harassment made by the settlers of the area, denies Palestinians' human rights, hindering them to live in their villages, to cultivate their lands and to graze their flocks and preventing the development of local communities.
Nevertheless, the Palestinian communities in the South Hebron Hills are strongly involved to claim their rights and resist to the Israeli occupation choosing the nonviolent way.
Two Israelis and few Palestinians were arrested in farmer working the land activities. The Israelis were released late evening with no restrictions.

Don't Say We Didn't Know 341
On Thursday, December 13th, at 7 p.m., Israelis soldiers stopped a Palestinian vehicle in the village of Markaz (in the South Hebron Hills, firing zone no. 918). This was a vehicle delivering food to the village. The soldiers confiscated the vehicle and its contents, and forced the owner to follow them to Yateer Checkpoint. After hours of phone calls to the Civil Administration, the owner of the car and his brother were released. The car itself remained in the army's hands at the checkpoint. During the talks, the soldiers claimed they were not holding the car and suggested calling the police. Only at 9:30 a.m. the next morning was the vehicle and its contents released.

On Friday noon, Palestinians went out on a motorized tour (6 mini-tractors and two cars) around Jinba in the South Hebron Hills. Soldiers detained them and summoned the police. The soldiers arrested one of the travelers and the police arrested another. The police requisitioned one of the mini-tractor claiming it is stolen. After two hours the detainees and the mini-tractor were released.
