Dec 03 16 The Ha’aretz Cartoons: Outraged over outrage![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Cartoons have become explosive, underlining deep political fault lines in the new world order and more often than not, concealing bigotry and diverting debate from racism and imperialism to the much abused concept of “freedom of expression”. The latest episode was started by a cartoon published in Ha’aretz in which the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Minister of Defence Ehud Barak, say farewell to troops on the way to bomb Iran, while asking them to bomb the UNESCO offices in Ramallah on the way back. As most of the Tel Aviv inhabitants ignore the separation fence that pass in the West of the Palestinian areas - robbing additional lands in the name of "security, we decided to bring them the flavor of it. At noon, after aborted action in the original point about 15 activists of the Anarchists Against The Wall initiative regrouped to the new location. At the alternative time and place (not far from the police station), two spools of barbed wire were stretched and chained to poles of road signs on the two sides of the street - blocking the traffic. warning signs confiscated from the separation fence at Bil'in were hanged on the new fence.
At noon, we marched from the center of the village on the road leading to the route of the separation fence. We were about 150 demonstrators. About 100 of Bil'in villagers, 20 Israelis organized by the Anarchists against the wall initiative, 25 internationals, and a number of media workers from all over the world and of our region. The march was accompanied as usual with chanting. The theme of this Friday was the protest of the Israeli special forces who kidnapped las nights lot of Palestinians - including three of Bil'in villagers. It was expressed by orange head and face cover that many of the demonstrators wore. When we arrived at the fence route we encountered the state forces who blocked the entrance with three armored cars and spools of barbed wire.
The capitalist system has developed to a higher stage. The concentration of capital and the lowering of borders between individual capitalist states has diminished national competition and brought a new era. No more threat of military wars between States and blocs of States. Much less the need of capitalists to ensure the willingness of wage slaves to fight for them in wars. Production and even services are moving to the less-developed countries. Many guest and migrant workers are arriving in developed countries... and the capitalists are extracting more and more surplus value. [Italiano]
For those of us who are not so sure whether the libertarian communist principle of "From each according to ability - to each according to needs" is compatible with human nature.
Parecon is nice talk to satisfy problems left liberals and socialist intellectuals are concerned with. However, if you look at it in an analytic way you see that the king is naked. Sorry, no press releases matched your search, maybe try again with different settings. |
