Jump To Comment: 1 2On March 8, 1917 (February 23, 1917, according to the Julian calendar), women textile workers in Petrograd initiated a rally that soon enveloped the whole city, demanding "Bread and Peace"—an end to World War I, food shortages, and czarism.
