An autonomous battle of workers and all working people! Workers are demanding the ratification of a minimum wage adjustment of 200 Gourdes that the Haitian Parliament has passed since May 5th. Workers, for some time now, have been demanding a minimum wage hike. The Préval/Pierre-Louis administration is asking for another round of negotiations. This is just a political maneuver to demobilize workers, accompanied by a high level of repression, such as against the recent May Day marches and the June student rallies. For many years, the ruling classes in Haiti, mainly the bourgeoisie, have mobilized the masses to achieve their own political objectives. With the help of imperialism, they mobilized working people to isolate reactionary governments that did not fully satisfy their interests. They made promises, peddling a fake social contract. Now, workers are demanding the ratification of a minimum wage adjustment of 200 Gourdes that the Haitian Parliament has passed since May 5th. Workers, for some time now, have been demanding a minimum wage hike. The Préval/Pierre-Louis administration is asking for another round of negotiations. This is just a political maneuver to demobilize workers, accompanied by a high level of repression, such as against the recent May Day marches and the June student rallies.
