An incomplete synopsis of the resistance across Greece fort Tuesday, 9 Dec. 2008

COFRU
Clashes between students and MAT. Damage to a police station, I.X., and shops.

GIANNINA
Demonstrations in the centre of the city. Petropolemos and slogans shouted.

TRIKALA
One student and four police officers wounded. Nine students arrested.

KARDITSA
Rally in the town square. Accusations that arrests were made without cause.

AGRINIO
Peaceful demonstration of hundreds of students.

PATRAS
Occupation of the television station “Super B” by anti-authoritarians.

CHANIA
Bank burned, extensive clashes throughout the night. The building of the prefect is in flames.

THESSALONIKI
Looting and damage to I.X., shop windows.

KAVALA
Two police officers lightly wounded, damage to three police cars, and four banks.

LARISSA
20 banks destroyed.

MITILINI
Student demonstrations. Occupation of the University of the Aegean.

VOLOS
Students stage sit-ins.

CHIOS
Students denounce police officer.

SAMOS
Demonstrations by students and workers associations. Closure of A.T. Karlobasou [n.b., this is
perhaps the name of a place on the island -- Translator]

ZAKYNTHOS
Siege of Police Headquarters by hundreds of students.

PYRGOS
Molotovs thrown by young men against the city court.

AMALIADA
Eggs, yoghurt, and tomatoes are thrown by students at the police department.

RETHIMNO
Hundreds of demonstrators shouted slogans, while throwing stones at the Police headquarters.

HERAKLION
The city is a battlefield overnight on the central streets of the city. Attacks against television bureaus.

RHODES
Four arrests; stones, eggs, and tomatoes thrown at a dynamic rally. Barricades surround the police departments.

This summary is an attempt to present reports that paint an admittedly incomplete picture of the events throughout Greece, especially in the smaller cities and towns, since most reports focus on the situation in Athens, Thessaloniki, and Patras. Information from the centrist daily Eleftherotypia was used in this article.
