In the wake of the G8/G20 economic summit protests in Toronto, Canada this past weekend, black bloc demonstrators have once again sparked discussion on the left and hysterics in the corporate media. Closely linked to anarchism, the continued popularity of the black bloc tactic colors the reputation of protesters, particularly anarchists, and merits a response with greater clarity from anarchists. ... read full story / add a comment

... read full story / add a comment

There is speculation that the recent bombing of a bank in Canada might have been a false flag operation carried out by agent provocateurs to blame anarchists and give police a reason to further ramp up security. In many ways, the whole security operations for the G8/G20 summits are a sideshow designed to serve as a distraction. Any violence and mayhem before or during the meetings plays right into the globalists hands and will be used to justify a police state crackdown.

... read full story / add a comment

Eva Rowe’s parents were among the 15 who died that day in Texas City.

“A worker who actually worked at the plant collapsed to the floor crying, telling me he was so sorry that he couldn’t find my parents, that he’d been looking for them since the explosion happened. So then I knew,” she recalled.

“My parents were my best friends, they’re all I had. My life ended that day. BP ruined my life. It ended my life. That day I had to start all over.”

On April 23rd, Arizona Governor Jan Brewer signed SB1070 into law, giving local and state police broad power to detain suspected illegal immigrants. The Support Our Law Enforcement and Safe Neighborhoods Act would require immigrants in the state of Arizona to carry their alien registration documents on their persons at all times. It also requires police to question any person they may reasonably suspect is in the U.S. illegally. The Act comes after years of increased public outcry for better enforcement of U.S. immigration laws. In response, grassroots organizations all over the country, from faith-based groups to labor unions, poured into the streets on May 1st to demand a repeal of the Arizona reforms. ... read full story / add a comment

... read full story / add a comment

Glass shards lay scattered on the ground in front of a large chain store on Ste-Catherine Street West.

A young punk, his face covered with a black bandana, screams at a line of riot police.

Molotov cocktails and rocks fly through the air.

Though these are the typical images associated with anarchism in Montreal, there’s a much broader picture to the political ideology that stems back over a century in this city.

Anarchism, the belief that formal government is unnecessary and therefore illegitimate, has deep roots in Montreal’s communities, from factories to academic institutions like Concordia. ... read full story / add a comment

Is there anyone out there who can argue that the tea party movement is nothing more than the latest edition of white supremacist gang politics of the worst order?

Isn't it getting to be close to the moment when we treat them the way we treat more blatant white supremacists, and nazis when they decide to march in our communities? Isn't it about time we confront them head on? Tea scumbaggers aren't the only angry militants in this country. Buy yourself and your friends some black hoodies and start thinking about about what's next. ... read full story / add a comment

The Boston Anti-Authoritarian Movement is calling on our friends and comrades to join us at the rally for Harvard Workers, March 25, 5pm at the Holyoke Center, a Harvard Administration Building (1350 Mass. Anarchists have participated in the No Layoffs Campaign since the beginning, and have a good relationship with the campaign's organizers, who have asked us to come out in full force, and to bring out our colors. ... read full story / add a comment
