An Anti-homosexuality Bill has been tabled before the Parliament of Uganda. Many have risen to denounce and oppose it, both within the country and from across the globe. Many others have risen to support it. Some in the Church have argued in favor of the capital punishment in the Bill, others have argued for life imprisonment. The ones arguing for life imprisonment are actually considered to be in opposition to the Bill. La situation de Mayotte reste marquée par le colonialisme français, une situation qui risque bien de durer, du fait du renouveau des intérêts économiques que représente la région pour la France et ses multinationales.
«Je fais la navette entre Anjouan [Île de l’archipel des Comores] et Mayotte depuis 2003. J’ai ma famille là-bas [Mayotte] et c’est là-bas que j’ai construit ma vie. A chaque fois je suis reconduit et à chaque fois j’y retourne. C’est dire que ce n’est pas ma dernière traversée!».
Des États, des industries et des investisseurs s’approprient des terres en Afrique et ailleurs pour récupérer à leur compte leur production agricole. Alors que des régions entières souffrent de sous alimentation, ces tractations précarisent encore davantage les populations locales avec la complicité des États nationaux.
À la suite du mouvement social qu’a connu Mayotte à l’automne dernier, voici un retour sous l’angle de la création propre aux Mahoraises et aux Mahorais de leur histoire de lutte. La nouveauté et l’ampleur de la contestation sur l’île en font un laboratoire intéressant sur l’expérience de luttes que peut se faire un peuple.
Depuis 1995 la France a engagé à Mayotte une politique de fermeture des frontières, dont les conséquences sont la violation du droit international, ainsi qu’une situation coûtant la vie à de nombreuses personnes. more >>
