The separation fence is no more at the center of attention - both in the efforts of the Israeli state which is using more brutal means for the transfer of the Palestinians from rural areas, and among the Palestinian public which is focused around the survival of the Palestinian authority in the West Bank. The danger of the collapse of the PA has forced Israel to allow more Palestinian workers to enter Israel - half of them with official permits. It also provided some monetary help too. However the efforts to clear rural areas with the help of colonialist settler paramilitaries and terrorists has increased the joint struggles against it - mainly in the South Hebron Mountains. The joint struggle in Beit Ummar, Nabi Saleh against the state helped encrouchments by colonial settlers and Qaddum are still worrying the occupation managers who have gradually escalated the efforts to crush them.
