Some anarchists and libertarian Marxists oppose the concepts of national self-determination and national liberation. They argue that these slogans deny class struggle, endorse nationalism, is contrary to anarchist principles, and lead to Leninism. I respond to these arguments, saying that anarchists should be in solidarity with the people of oppressed nations without endorsing their nationalist leaders. read full story / add a comment

Anarchism is an uncertain term. Self-identified anarchists sometimes see their particular school of anarchism as the only legitimate type of anarchism. For example, I have been told that I am not an anarchist or that what I believe is not anarchism. This happens most often over discussions about anarchism and radical democracy, or anarchism\'s use of aspects of Marxism, or support for technology, or advocacy of the self-organization of revolutionary anarchists. read full story / add a comment

A review of David Graeber's book, Revolutions in Reverse. The author has some intelligent insights, such as the importance of recognizing where the justice movements have won victories. In other ways his thinking is sometimes muddled, as he tries to both reject the need for an insurrectionary revolution and, at the same time, to advocate it as part of his perspective of reversed revolutions. read full story / add a comment

The US and other imperial powers hypocritically demand that Iran limits its nuclear energy and military programs, in unilateral "negotiations." But while internationalists reject US hypocrisy and bullying, we should not accept nuclear bombs or energy by any nation. read full story / add a comment
