Colin Ward was one of the most influential English-writing anarchists for 60 years. Anarchists of every sort can still learn much from him. Yet revolutionary anarchists have criticized him for being gradualist and reformist. read full story / add a comment

A global movement, the anarchist and syndicalist tradition has influenced people from all walks of life. A notable figure was Bernard L.E. Sigamoney, born in 1888. The grandson of indentured Indian labourers, who arrived in South Africa in the 1870s, he became a school teacher with a working class outlook. [Italiano] read full story / add a comment

Anarchist Dimitri Karampilias during 1890s in Patras
greece / turkey / cyprus / history of anarchism / opinion / analysis Thursday September 11, 2014 19:36 by Dimitris Troaditis   image 1 image
In this article, Troaditis examines the transitional period between the appearance of the general socialist organisation Socialist Brotherhood and the forming of some clearly anarchist groupings. It’s a period that there is nothing remained from Democratic Association of the People (of 1870s Patras) as some of their members have either become moderate socialists or simply have disappeared, and a new and fresh wave of anarchists is starting to be visible in town. This moment is just a step before of the formation of the anarchist communist newspaper-collective “Epi Ta Proso” (“Forward”) in 1896. read full story / add a comment

The publishing cooperative Radical Theory & Practice from Moscow has initiated a new project: translating Emma Goldman's autobiography "Living My Life" into Russian and printing it for distribution. This will be the first ever, integral translation of the work into Russian. However, we are facing some big financial hurdles, and currently have €3,000 in the minus column. We do not want to stop working on the project due to profit margins or lack thereof, but as most of us are fully employed within the cooperative we need to ensure our daily costs are covered. read full story / add a comment
