No nos conformemos con fijar en el calendario un día que reivindique y de paso oculte el verdadero origen de esta lucha y volquémonos a hacerla nuestra en el día a día. Es nuestra labor como izquierda revolucionaria no caer en actitudes de discriminación y exclusión con las compañeras, propias de las relaciones autoritarias de las sociedades tradicionales y burguesas. On Thursday 12 February 2009 members of the Zabalaza Anarchist Communist Front participated in a protest-march held in Johannesburg as part of the Coalition Against Water Privatisation's Women and Water Campaign. The protest went from Library Gardens in central Johannesburg, a historic meeting point for protests in the city, to Mayor Amos Masondo's office in Braamfontein, near Constitution Hill. The march was to demand that Masondo withdraw his appeal of the pro-poor Johannesburg High Court ruling of Judge Tsoka, which ruled that the forced installation of pre-paid water meters and the prepayment water system is unlawful and unconstitutional, and that City of Johannesburg and Johannesburg Water provide residents of poor townships with 50 litres of free water per person per day. read full story / add a comment

"Die kapitalistische Gesellschaft hängt von der Klassenausbeutung ab. Sie hängt allerdings nicht vom Sexismus ab und könnte theoretisch zu einem großen Teil eine ähnliche Behandlung von Frauen und Männern beherbergen. Dies ist offensichtlich wenn wir uns anschaun, was der Kampf für die Befreiung der Frauen in vielen Gesellschaften auf der ganzen Welt in den letzten, sagen wir, 100 Jahren erreicht hat. Es gab radikale Verbesserungen der Situation von Frauen und der zugrunde liegenden Annahmen, welche Rollen und Rechte für Frauen natürlich sind. Der Kapitalismus hat sich in der Zwischenzeit an die sich wandelnde Rolle von Frauen und deren Status in der Gesellschaft angepasst."
Dieser Tage ist es durchaus üblich, eine Kritik des "Mainstream"- oder "Mittelklasse"-Feminismus von AnarchistInnen oder anderen revolutionären, und auch nicht-so-revolutionären Linken zu hören. Insbesondere AnarchistInnen kritisieren oft schnell jede feministische Analyse, die keine Klassenanalyse hat. Dieser Artikel argumentiert, dass es wichtig ist, für den Feminismus in seinem eigenen Recht zu kämpfen, und dass, wenn es darum geht Sexismus zu beenden, ein ständiges Beharren auf Klasse nur zu einer Ablenkung von der Tatsache führen kann, dass wir als AnarchistInnen eindeutig den Feminismus unterstützen müssen. Anstatt uns von anderen FeministInnen zu distanzieren oder immer unsere Unterstützung zu modifizieren, sollte sich unser Schwerpunkt hin zur Entwicklung und Förderung unserer eigenen Art eines anarchistischen Feminismus entwickeln.

Last year, in Ireland, a pregnant woman carrying a foetus which could not survive was brought before the Irish courts. The state insisted that she carry it to term. That is what Ireland’s anti-abortion law meant for Miss “D”, a 17 year old in the care of the Health Services Executive. She was four months pregnant when her foetus was diagnosed with anencephaly. The outlook for individuals with this is extremely poor; stillbirth or death a few hours after birth. As the Choice Ireland group said at the time “No woman should have to endure the trauma of carrying to full term a child who will not live more than a few hours. By preventing “Miss D” from travelling to Britain for an abortion the Irish government are defining women as uterine incubators rather than individuals entitled to basic human rights”.
This article examines how such of tragic state of affairs came to pass. It documents the struggle in Ireland for abortion rights, highlighting the role anarchists played in fighting for a womens right to choose. read full story / add a comment

We, Zabalaza Anarchist Communist Front (ZACF), were recently shocked to hear about another homophobic murder in Johannesburg and extend our sympathy and solidarity to the LGBTI (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex) community of South Africa, that has had to suffer from oppression and discrimination so often within a short period of time.
