The Municipal Workers’ Union of Cachoeirinha (Sindicato dos Municipários de Cachoeirinha – SIMCA) is a union that fights for workers’ rights in class-based struggles in Brazil. Founded on June 20, 1989, it has consistently been a protagonist in struggles both initiated by the Union and by other social movements. Seçimli sistemlerin tümünde, çoğunluk olan iktidar olur. Demokraside, çoğunluğun iktidarı demokratiktir. Çoğunluk olan iktidardır, azınlık olan ise iktidar olamamıştır. Çoğunluğun ve azınlığın ilişkisi, seçimler sürecince iki ayrı yöntemin tartışması şeklinde sürmüştür. Tartışmadıkları tek şey ise seçimlerdir. Seçimler bir grubun toplumu “ben-biz yönetmek istiyoruz” sözüyle başlayan, diğer grubun ise “hayır ben-biz yönetmek istiyoruz” sözüyle karşılık bulduğu bir iddiadır. Seçimler, iddianın taraflarının anlaşarak başlattığı seçmen sayma sürecidir ve seçmenler olmadan gerçekleşemez. Hangi tarafın seçmeni diğerinden çoksa, toplumun yönetimi de o tarafta olacaktır. Seçmen, bu iddialaşmada sadece sayısal bir değerdir. Bu sayısal değer gündelik yaşamında birçok sorunu çözmeye çalışarak yaşayan vatandaş için önemsenecek bir değer değildir. İddialaşmanın tarafları seçimlerdeki katılımı arttırmak için, vatandaşı, sayılan seçmen sıfatından çıkarıp iddianın içine sokmak isterler. Böylece iddiaya katılım artacaktır. Katılımın artması, bir sayı olan seçmenin, öncelikle iddiayı ve sonrasında ise seçimleri ve daha da sonrasında seçimlerin sonucunda oluşacak iktidarı içselleştirmesini sağlayacaktır. Seçmen kazansa da kaybetse de seçimin sonucunu ve seçilmiş tarafın iktidarını kabullenecektir. Vatandaşın bu kabullenmesi, seçimlerde iddialaşan her grubun kazanımıdır. Seçimi kazanan hükümetini sürdürdükçe, kaybeden de muhalefetini sürdürecek ve her iki taraf da bir dahaki seçimleri bekleyeceklerdir.

El día domingo 26 de Marzo se celebró la tan esperada consulta minera sobre la explotación del oro en la mina de oro de La Colosa, en Cajamarca (Tolima). 6.241 habitantes de Cajamarca salieron ese día a votar ante una sencilla pregunta “¿Está usted de acuerdo Sí o No que en el municipio de Cajamarca se ejecuten proyectos y actividades mineras?”. In our last statement on the Michael Schmidt case and accusations by journalists Alexander Reid Ross and Joshua Stephens that he is a fascist and white nationalist that attempted to infiltrate the anarchist movement, we said that the Anarkismo network had decided “to call for a commission of enquiry to investigate more closely both the accusations and the defence, and to make recommendations to the broader anarchist movement based on their findings”.
Regrettably it has been over a year since we announced our intention to convene a commission of inquiry and it has not yet materialised.
While we have recently started making progress once again on the call for a commission and will continue to work towards finalizing our proposal and framework, however, we have also had enough time now to debate aspects of the case both within and between some of the organisations in the network.
New developments and information concerning the case have also come to our attention that must be addressed immediately.

In the first week of Donald Trump’s presidency, there were two important mobilizations that expressed radically different views on reproductive rights. The Women’s March on Washington, which took place the day after Trump’s inauguration, has been hailed as one of the largest mobilizations in US history. What began as a spontaneous call quickly ballooned into a movement that tapped into growing anxieties over the intentions of the new administration. The march drew some 500,000 to rally in Washington DC while sister marches were held across the country and even worldwide. One week later, another mobilization took place: the annual March for Life. While significantly smaller, this march still drew many attendees who were energized by celebrity speakers from the Trump administration.
At this point, there is no certainty that the Women’s March will evolve into an actual social movement. This much is clear: the Women’s March represents a political opening to rebuild a revolutionary feminist movement (in conjunction with other developing struggles) that advances demands to improve the lives of working people and embraces conflict with the liberal, capitalist character of the feminist movement of the day.

On January 3, 2017, Syrian refugees, joined by Iraqi refugees and international supporters, marched on the Russian embassy in Thessaloniki, Greece. An article reporting on the march quotes a Syrian refugee as follows:
“They are trying to kill all the flowers in Syria, but they cannot kill the Spring. The Spring is coming. We are here, they cannot kill all the Syrian people.”

El miércoles 28 de diciembre, el compañero César Augusto Roa Carvajal, iba en su moto por Mosquera, Cundinamarca, cuando a las 10:30pm perdió el control del vehículo y se estrelló contra un poste. Para los medios, era sencillamente uno más de los muertos en esa vía, el cuarto en la semana. Para nosotros el que había muerto era también un compañero excepcional, que había destacado en la lucha de los corteros de caña en el Valle del Cauca en el 2008. Six months have now passed since our first call for solidarity. In this short text, we would like to report on the current situation and the continuation of our campaign. (...) la destrucción de lo que nos oprime no vendrá de una de las instituciones que sostiene el sistema de dominación, ningún tipo de Estado ni de proyectos que pacten con él podrán aterrizar cambios significativos en la autonomía de nuestras cuerpas, derechos sociales para las de abajo o construcción de espacios seguros. El caso de Argentina es ejemplificador de aquello, de qué sirve tener un Ministerio de las Mujeres, Géneros y Diversidad o decretar el uso del lenguaje inclusivo en todos los documentos de las instituciones estatales si basta con un cambio de gobierno para desmotar estas medidas con los mismos instrumentos con los que se “ganaron”. Como lo mencionamos en nuestra matriz de análisis, el Estado es una institución central para el actual sistema de dominación, de ahí que las medidas de corto plazo que surgen desde él siempre tenderán a reforzar su legitimidad. Mientras no sean los movimientos sociales, en el marco de la lucha de clases, los que logren conquistas sociales y políticas, prefiguren la sociedad libre y den la batalla ideológica que se contraponga al modelo actual, ningún cambio será duradero ni podrá movilizar y articular a las de abajo por su defensa. En síntesis, no será garantía ni certeza de nada.
En el plano internacional, el genocidio sobre el pueblo de palestina continúa; el Estado de Israel con el apoyo de EEUU, la Unión Europea y el mundo occidental en general, llevan meses realizando una política sistemática de aniquilación de la población de Gaza. Por nuestra parte no nos extraviamos en laberintos epistémicos y nos solidarizamos con la resistencia palestina en Gaza y Cisjordania. Sin embargo, no hay que mirar solamente al sionismo y su política de muerte, en Wallmapu se vive una guerra sucia sin la extensión y crudeza de Gaza, pero con el mismo objetivo: la erradicación de quienes se oponen a los opresores. En el territorio ancestral mapuche, el gobierno progresista ha sostenido una militarización sin precedentes, buscando desarticular el movimiento autónomo mapuche por medio del terrorismo de Estado. A día de hoy existen más de 60 presxs políticxs mapuche, las comunidades son acosadas constantemente e incluso desalojadas de sus tierras por la “Ley Anti Toma”, a su vez, comunerxs encarceladxs mantienen una larga huelga de hambre, que ya se ha extendido por más de 70 días exigiendo la nulidad del juicio racista que les ha condenado a extensas penas.

La dictadura cívico-militar se desplegó tácticamente en múltiples dimensiones para sembrar el miedo en la sociedad, con el fin de desmantelar la fuerza social organizada que había hecho posible la experiencia socialista en la región chilena. Estos procesos de desmantelamiento político, social y emocional de gran parte de la clase organizada han provocado una herida colectiva, profunda y traumática, herida que la impunidad y los pactos de silencio institucionales mantienen abierta hasta el día de hoy y que ha traído múltiples consecuencias en la experiencia vital colectiva de todxs quienes hemos crecido en estos territorios los últimos 50 años y más.

Οι αναρχικοί σύντροφοί μας βρίσκονται ακόμα στο Σουδάν και ήλπιζαν να μπορέσουν να συνεχίσουν τις αγωνιστικές τους δραστηριότητες εκεί κρυφά. Παρέχαμε οικονομική βοήθεια πριν από τον πόλεμο και ακόμη και στην αρχή του. Αλλά η κατάσταση έχει γίνει αφόρητη και δεν επιτρέπει πλέον καμία κοινωνική ή πολιτική δραστηριότητα. Κάποια μέλη της ομάδας αποφάσισαν να εγκαταλείψουν τη χώρα το συντομότερο δυνατό μετά τη λεηλασία του σπιτιού τους από τις ΔΤY. Άλλα αποφάσισαν να παραμείνουν προς το παρόν και προσπαθούμε να τα βοηθήσουμε και αυτά.
