We just received announcement from Beit Ommar on the last developments in their town and region. The group of the activists in Beit Ommar was enlarged, and a regional comity of South Hill of Hebron activists was formally established. Last Weekend, after the Holiday, all the regular struggles were resumed, and many details are included in this report. Beit Ommar, Bil'in, Ma'sara, Nabi Saleh, Nilin, Qaddom, South of Hebron Hills and Sheikh Jarah too.... After eight years of continuous activity against the separation fences and walls & occupation in the west bank, and sporadic activities within Israel (including within the spectrum of social justice). After sporadic discussions about our activities and organization, the anarchists against the wall meeting of activists decided last month on weekly meetings to promote the cohesion of the group and our activities within Israel. read full story / add a comment

The joint struggle in Bil'in have never stopped for the last seven years and eight months. It inspired the persistent struggles in Ni'ilin, Ma'asara, Beit Ummar, Nabi Saleh, Qaddum, and Sheikh Jarrah. Activists of the persistent locals inspired and helped the struggles in additional communities. It was "upgraded" when the higher level comity of the struggling local communities was organized. In addition to support of the local struggles it was also expressed in joint actions like this of the previous week at the 443 high way to Jerusalem which pass through the occupied west bank of Palestine and this week at the Beniamin compound against the settler colonialist Rami levi supermarket. This week end the activities were minimal because of the Eid Al Adha holiday, but not canceled. [Italiano] read full story / add a comment

The struggles the anarchists against the wall were never restricted to joint local struggles against the separation fence (Masha, Zabuba, Budrus, Bidu, Bil'in, etc. Nor to other local struggles against the occupations (Beit Omar, Nabi Saleh, Quadum, 443 high way, etc. Nor even restricted to the joint actions together with Palestinian partners. We joined along the years direct actions: of social struggles, of refugees and guest workers, and even activities for the Gheto Gaza people (the last one was solidarity vigils and jail/court solidarity with the crew of Saturday captured ship which tried to overcome the siege of Gaza. The social struggle with in Israel fragmented. Some of the leading activists used the focusing of media on them for jumping on the election wagon. Only minority choose the non parliamentary road. Very few of the activist were educated by their struggle to adopt anti capitalist anti authoritarian road for social struggle. In the occupied territories lot of stress as the settler colonialists get more cooperation by state forces in are C but the threat of the collapse/disintegration of the Palestinian authority force Israel to make concessions no previous struggle and pressure brought about. The joint struggle of the anarchists against the wall has a diminishing momentum but we still go on. The separation fence is no more at the center of attention - both in the efforts of the Israeli state which is using more brutal means for the transfer of the Palestinians from rural areas, and among the Palestinian public which is focused around the survival of the Palestinian authority in the West Bank. The danger of the collapse of the PA has forced Israel to allow more Palestinian workers to enter Israel - half of them with official permits. It also provided some monetary help too. However the efforts to clear rural areas with the help of colonialist settler paramilitaries and terrorists has increased the joint struggles against it - mainly in the South Hebron Mountains. The joint struggle in Beit Ummar, Nabi Saleh against the state helped encrouchments by colonial settlers and Qaddum are still worrying the occupation managers who have gradually escalated the efforts to crush them. The ferment and anger increase in the general population of the occupied west bank and Gaza. The already two weeks daily evening stone throwing of the Shabab of Qalandia at the Israeli check post. The economic ferment of unemployed in the west bank forced Israel to admit economic support in fear of the collapse of the Palestinian authority. The more than 50 thousands of Palestinians working daily in Israel are part of this economic compromises. However, the Israeli efforts to transfer out farmers from the agrarian areas of C category intensify with the unofficially help of the settlers. The involvement of the Israeli activists in Nabi Saleh, Beit Ummar and South of Hebron Hills area are the most damaging to this project and the pogrom at Anata-Anatot where state forces personnel who live there participated with immunity was a clear message to the Israeli activists. When the world media is focused on the war mongering of israel directed to Iran, the naZionist settler colonialists efforts directed towards the Palestinian farmers in area C intensify. More suppression efforts are directed to Nabi Saleh and Qaddum who are in the front of the resistance. Other confrontations are a plenty in the South of Hebron Hills where the colonialist settlers are the main attackers and the state forces "only" help them. Lot of house demolitions are a daily phenomena. Bil'in, Ni'ilin, and Ma'asara who started the persistent non armed popular struggle against the separation fence and occupation floated to the margin of both suppression and media reporting. The sporadic vigils within Israel and more so in Tel Aviv seems to be on the margin of attention only. [Italiano] read full story / add a comment

There were high hopes at the beginning of the year both about the joint struggle against the occupation, about the social struggle, and about the treatment of guest workers families and the refugees. In all three of them there is a clear setback. Only one village (Qadumm) was added to the persistent weekly demonstrations, and settler colonialists harassments intensify the efforts to transfer villagers fro area C. Most of the activists of last year social struggle were lured to the parliamentary quagmire. Many of the guest worker families with children an lot of refugees were deported. More and more refugees are arrested and taken to the huge concentration camp most of the refugees are supposed to be incarcerated in... Sheikh Jarrah, South of Hebron Hills, and within Israel: Haifa regional court, Saharonim concentration camp, and demos against the war mongering. The uncertainty regarding the exploding of the Tycoons bauble, the economy slump, the war mongering regarding Iran and the scandalous treatment of the refugees dump a bit the energy of the activists. The Israeli state forces have escalated their repression lately. Their main targets are pressure on Palestinian farmers to transfer out of the Jordan valley and the south of Hebron hills, and the joint struggle against settler expansion and Israeli state terror at Beit Ummar, Nabi Saleh, and Qaddum. Throughout recent weeks there have been demonstrations and vigils against the intended bombing attack by Israel on the nuclear facilities of Iran. A few of them in front of the security compound at Kaplan street, others were mainly in front of the not far away apartment tower where the security minister Barak lives. rojava_1.png imageInternational Libertarian-Socialist Statement in Solidarity with the Kurdish Resistance 05:36 Sun 19 Oct by Anarchist Organisations and Militants 0 comments

For some years now the Kurdish movement has been moving in the direction of libertarian ideas. While not an anarchist movement, this move is a sign that anarchist ideas of freedom and equality through solidarity, our ideas of horizontality and radical direct democracy and our radical critique against the State are not only valid and strong, but are also necessary for movements in order to break away from the authoritarian legacy within the left. It is our duty to express our solidarity with Rojava and the Kurdish movement, because they represent hope in this region and because they are the oppressed fighting the oppressors. Real struggles are never perfect but they carry diverse degrees of potential to being about a free society. Expressing our solidarity with the revolutionary movement in Rojava means we understand our role is to continue developing the core tenets of our ideas in order to inspire revolutions and revolutionaries all over the world. - Anarkismo.net Editorial Group [Italiano]

A physical confrontation between between the Israeli armed forces (and settlers) and a joint crowd of Israeli Jews and Palestinian activists in the 1967 occupied territories is so common that people do not sense its unique nature. In addition to PR disaster for the Zionist transfer project it also forced Israel to mostly exclude shooting with life ammunition fire to kill non armed Palestinian demonstrators whenever Israelis might participate. In addition to the usual locations of joint struggles, addition places Palestinians start protests we learn of from the media. The Israeli media to which the agreement with the Hamas about the end of the rocketing was not revealed, come again and again with facts and generals opinions which can only be explained as rationalization to changes forced on Israel in the agreement.

Arkib (1948 Bedouins), Bil'in, Dahams (Ramla 1948 village), East Jerusalem (occupied 1967 mainly Sheikh Jarah, Shuafat, and the Bedouins of the region) Ma'asarah, Nabi Saleh, Ni'ilin, Qaddum, South of Hebron Hills - the main locations of the joint struggles the anarchists against the wall are involved in. As the Israeli pretending of striving for any kind of peace was exposed, the transfer efforts are intensified. It seems the hazards taking and gambling of Israel on the continuation of the occupation is increasing. The Israeli government count on the pro Israeli lobby of the US right and the strategic value of Israel in the present troubled time and recklessly disregard the mounting international pressure... though the Israeli officials and the public keep worrying in public about the economic and political pressures. Though Israel failed in its last open assault on the Gaza Strip, it still succeed in its transfer efforts. The drowning of a refugee ship with 450 mainly Gaza people reflect the partial success of Israel transfer efforts that for the never ended efforts since 1948. The siege on Gaza join the pressure on both Palestinians within the 1948 borders and that of the 1967. The big masses were driven out during the 1948 and 1967 wars, but efforts continued with all means possible. Some expelled by force some were moved within the border as pressure to "voluntary transfer". Within the 1967 borders, the Israeli efforts are targeted on the villages and Bedouins living in area C where the joint struggle to resist it is mainly focused in the South of Hebron Hills. And the joint struggle in Arkib, Dahamsh (1948 borders), and Bil'in, Ma'asara, Nabi Saleh, Ni'ilin, Qaddum, Sheikh Jarah (East Jerusalem) continue "as usual". [Italiano]

The 50-day war on Gaza ended, after Israel begged for a ceasefire and yielded to major demands from Hamas (some kept in secret even from Israeli government ministers). A majority of Israelis admit that Israel did not win the war but with difficulty admit that Hamas had the upper hand. Ministers passed two weeks ago a classified Cabinet document containing a proposal to place an international force in Gaza, which may mean the end of Israel's occupation of the Gaza Strip and the opening of the Ghetto... and may be a precedent to what could be the end of the occupation of the West Bank). In Israel, the "radical" left is back to "normal"... though many more activists are contemplating joining the comrades who had already lost hope and emigrated. It seems the international pressures of the imperial powers and the advances of the boycott movement are bringing the end of the 1967 occupation sooner than expected. [Italiano]

textRojava: An Anarcho-Syndicalist Perspective Oct 19 by KB 0 comments

Anarcho-syndicalists should should hold no illusions about the Rojava Revolution. Since the turn of the millenium there have been reports of a libertarian municipalist turn in the Kurdish national liberation struggle inspired by Murray Bookchin. This change in politics has been lead by jailed founder and ideological leader Abdullah Öcalan of the Kurdish Workers Party (PKK) who discovered Bookchin while in prison. The PKK a former Maoist/Stalinist organization had turned to ethnic nationalism after the fall of the Soviet Union and discreditation of “really existing socialism” and so such a turn has been welcomed by many on the revolutionary left. However such processes of political transformation do not automatically translate to full adoption within a populace nevermind their official representation in leading parties.

In the October Revolution of 1917, the Bolshevik Party, together with other revolutionaries, overthrew the Provisional Government established in February and – together, initially, with left Social Revolutionaries – seized power. How did the Bolsheviks – a minority just eight months earlier, when the February Revolution overthrew the Tsar and established the Provisional Government – come to power so quickly? How did this small force emerge from relative obscurity to win large sections of the working class to its programme and take power? Herein lies the root and essence of United Front policy in a traditional Marxist sense. First published in issue 88 of Workers World News Part 1: NUMSA and the ‘United Front Against Neoliberalism’
