The transfer pressure in area C and the 1948 borders Negev intensifies. The colonialist settlers increase their terror, backed by the Israeli state forces. The increased popular struggle intensifies too and rightist calls for harsher repression are becoming louder. Not all those involved with the grassroots popular struggles are happy with the joint struggle together with Israelis, preferring to do without the relative immunity from harsher repression that we provide, and without our contribution for world public opinion. The ferment in the region has already decided that things will not be the same, but only popular struggle and international pressure will channel the changes to the better. The traditional Chinese course: "Have an interesting life" is fulfilled these months in the East of the Mediterranean: The elite in Syria massacre its rebelling people, the Israeli state continue with the cleansing of the Palestinians and have a second neo-liberal front with own people; Turkey just in the north cut the last ropes of the Ottoman empire and Egypt to the south is fermenting more than ever in its long long History. The elites of the European countries of the north who ruled and exploited our region for centuries start to feel and behave in the panic of tiger riders who fear that the ride is nearing its end and the confrontation with the tiger is nearing... And the joint struggle in Arkib, Beit Ummar, Bil'in' Ma'asara, Nabi Saleh, Ni'ilin, Qaddum, Sheikh Jarah, Sheikh Jarah, Silwad, South of Hebron Hills, Susiya, Tel Aviv-Jaffa, continue. It is already 65 years since the official Nacba day and the old memories of sorrow were joined with newer ones. However, the defeat was not complete. The Tsumud - the persistent stand fast still frustrate the effort of the Zionist settler colonialists from completing the "cleansing" of Palestine from the Palestinians. The joint non armed struggle which entered the world public media is on the verge of blocking the continuation of the cleansing project and even rolling it back. Thanks to all the brothers and sisters who participate in the joint struggle and the other popular struggles that gradually develop who keep my soul young in spite of the long way traveled. The long project of the Zionist settler colonialist transfer of Palestinians accelerate in war times but continue between wars too. Sometimes faster, some time slower. Some time it is focused on one area some times on another... But it never stop. The struggle against it is not even but the Palestinian resistance to transfer: Tsumud - persistence continue all the time. Last 11 years, and more so following the suppression of the second (the armed) Intifada, the third (non armed) Intifada is collecting momentum. It started mainly around the joint struggle with Israelis of the anarchists against the wall initiative which supplied a relative immunity from a prompt bloody suppression. It is now too wide spread for a focal bloody suppression to stop it. Though it is spreading widely last year or so, the joint struggle with Israelis is still a significant part in it. The regular Bil'in, Ni'ilin, Nabi Saleh, Qaddum, Maasara, South West and Southern Hebron Hills, and Sheikh Jarah, there were the Hebron action, the Jaffa vigil in solidarity with the hunger strikers Palestinian administrative prisoners, and a demo in Tel Aviv. As the third Intifada character is less dramatic than the previous two. At least at the first years, politicians and media commentators hesitating to declare it as such. After more lot of pondering on the subjects in the Israeli media, we heard this evening a new tag: "the signs of Intifada are already here". The escalation of the suppression of the Israeli state forces in the occupied west bank and their backing of settler colonialist terror activities last months, was not clear if it is only pre election thing or is intended to convert the unarmed third Intifada into an armed one. The unarmed Intifada expand gradually with the solidarity with the hunger striking prisoners at its focus. To the older locations of Beit Ummar, Bil'in, Ma'asarah, Nabi Saleh, Ni'ilin, Qadum, Sheikh Jarah, and South of Hebron Hills, and south-west joined last weeks Jayyus and Jaffa. The terrain is changing beneath our feet. Since the collapse of the majority of the “official communist” regimes, the world has witnessed both events and ideas that have undermined the former dominant thinking within the left. The Zapatistas, Argentina in 2001, South Korean workers movements, Oaxaca in 2006, the struggles around anti-globalization, and Greece’s series of insurrectionary moments have increasingly presented challenges to traditional left answers to movements and organization. In previous eras Marxist-Leninism was the nexus which all currents by default had to respond to either in agreement or critique. Today, increasingly anarchist practices and theory have come to play this role.

As a member of an anarchist political organization, a friend once told me I in fact was practicing democratic centralism. This was perplexing, because the group had no resembling structures, practices, or the associated behaviors of democratic centralism. However, I was told that since we debated, came to common decisions, and acted on that collective democracy, we were in fact democratic centralist. This kind of productive confusion led to questions about the concept, and why the target of democratic centralism has shifted. This move, the shifting conceptual territory of core concepts of a certain orthodoxy, comes up repeatedly not only with democratic centralism, but also surrounding ideas like crisis, dialectics, the State, and class. The resulting cognitive dissonance caused me to investigate attempts at reinvigorating the concept of democratic centralism (democratic centralist revisionism), and understand truly what it is, where it came from, and how it has been practiced. read full story / add a comment

Though the imperial powers tolerance for the Israeli repression and transfer diminish, Israel mainly respond with uneasy disregard. The world as large and even us within are waiting to see if there really was a shift in the blanc of power within the Israeli ruling elite and if the political turbulence in the region will contribute to any improvement in the Palestine-Israeli struggle. It is not clear if the intensification of Israeli transfer and repression efforts are just the last spasm of a dead end or a more desperate line of disregard of reality. In a month or two the picture may clear and till then, the old Tsumud (persistence) will continue. The intensification of the activities of the higher comity of grass root popular comities - mainly in the weekly "tent villages projects" started in Bab Al-Shams may be more than just an expression of optimism. It was not just the coming Israeli elections that Israeli settler colonialism intensified. It is part of the trend of last years in which the efforts to expand the settler colonialist project increase - as if to exploit the last opportunity. It is done within the 1948 borders - mainly with transfer of the Bedouins of the south. It is done within the occupied east Jerusalem. It occur in the C areas mainly near colonialist settlements and more so in areas intended to be annexed to Israel. In response, the third Intifada collect momentum and the anarchists against the wall are invited more and more to locations of joint struggles. The general election revealed that a substantial section of the capitalist elite start to distance itself from the costly settler colonialist project... But, it seems more international pressure is needed for a significant change. [Italiano] read full story / add a comment

A lot of the Israeli activists in the joint struggle with Palestinian popular initiative were skeptical about the contribution of the Anarchist Against the Wall initiative. They fail to see its contribution to recruiting and encouraging the less radical Israelis into initiating and/or participating in joint actions with Palestinians. They fail to see the contribution and legitimization of the struggle in the world arena; they fail to see the contribution for publicity - both within Israeli mainstream media and the world (Fife Brocken Cameras nominee for Oscar), and most of all the creation of a security net that prevents Israel from suppressing the popular struggle in a bloodbath and the mass arrest of Palestinian activists. The later peaks of Bab al-Shams (the Gate of the Sun) camp in Jerusalem and Al-Karamah (Dignity) at Beit Iksa no-one can ignore. [Italiano] read full story / add a comment

Bab Al Shams (the gate of the Sun) is a one step higher of the non-armed direct actions the joint comity of the villages popular comities involved in. The political parties that marginally support the struggle failed to co-opt it so far. The creativity of the joint comity rouse to an higher level in this action, forcing the Israeli state to disregard its pretension of law and order, and acted against its own higher court and destroyed the camp. The world media was "recruited" again to promote the non violent struggle against the occupation. In each village where weekly demos are done, few of the activist were left behind to keep the joint struggle going. [Italiano] read full story / add a comment

No one could predict that the joint camp in Masha 12 years ago of Israeli and Palestinian activists will ignite a wide movement of a joint non armed struggle which the Israeli occupying system will fail to extinguish. The thousands of activities and the tens of thousands of participates were not expected. Many small victories and the international B.D.S. warm the hearts of the not too many who persist in the joint struggle in spite of the mourning of those killed, empathy with the injured and solidarity with those arrested. The strong bond of partnership between the Palestinian activists and the Israeli Anarchists Against the Wall initiative was surprising. Disappointing but not surprising is the way the people of the Israeli anarchist scene refrained from adopting the initiative as the main recruiting mission. Bil'in, Ni'ilin, Ma'asara, Nebi Saleh, and Qaddum are still holding high the banner.

It is hard for many activists when the real meaning of the struggle are not concrete achievable gains, but a global worldwide struggle. This week, the concrete and the global merged when the struggle against the destruction of Susiya village recruited international support and forced Israel to delay or even cancel the demolition of the village. Pressure from the imperial powers on Israel was joined by European warning about approaching sanctions against the Israeli banking system for its involvement in the settlers' projects in the occupied West Bank. It seems the erosion of Israeli immunity from paying for its war crimes is collecting momentum. The Israeli media is full of news about B.D.S. - the joint struggle in which thousands of international activists participate, contributing a lot. The heroic Bil'in, Ni'lin, Nabi Saleh, Qaddum, Ma'sara, and Sheikh Jarrah keep the weekly flame from extinguishing. [Italiano]

Friday June 12ths shock closure of the iconic Clery’s department store in Dublin shows how the law is set up to favour capital and screw workers. Workers are being told there may be no additional redundancy or owed holiday payments as the company is in debt. But this is only the case because right before the closure the largest asset, the building itself, was separated off from the accumulated debts. This was almost certainly legal under our system but of such obvious dubious morality that the workers could expect massive popular support if they occupied the building on a permanent ongoing basis.

From last summer the amounts of families’ registering as homeless went from 264 to now, which are 531. The number of families that are registered as being in need of emergency accommodation is 792 adults with 1,112 dependent children. These statics were issued by the Dublin Regional Homeless Executive. This is a 100% rise within 12 months, but yet the state has not come out and said there is a crisis in housing.

Those in power don’t want to confront the status quo of hatred against immigrants, or South Africa’s imperialist role in the region. They have a narrow set of interests: getting votes, accumulating wealth and power. However, the recent wave of attacks on immigrants and the ruptures of relations with other African countries – especially where South African corporations are operating – have touched the most delicate nerves of the established political powers, who have vowed to advance corporate interests in making profits.

A 101 years earlier, on April 20, 1914, in Ludlow, Colorado, USA, a strike for basic labor rights by exploited miners and their families, mostly immigrants, was violently ended by state militia. In the fight, the strikers’ tent colony was machine-gunned and burned to the ground, leaving over twenty people dead, including women and children.
