Αυτό που θα πρέπει να μας ανησυχεί λοιπον στην περίοδο που διανύουμε, δεν είναι μονάχα οι δυναμικές που βλέπουμε στο προσκήνιο αλλά κι αυτές που δεν βλέπουμε, γιατί μένοντας μόνο στις υπεραπλουστεύσεις περί αρμονικής σχέσης αστικού κράτους-παρακράτους, ξεχνάμε, ότι ουκ ολίγες φορές αυτές έχουν διασαλευτεί και περιέλθει σε μια πλήρως αντιδιαλεκτική φάση. Το γεγονός μάλιστα ότι σε όλο αυτό το κλίμα έχουν υπάρξει και αριστερές αντί- ιμπεριαλιστικές πινελιές κάνει τα πράγματα να φαντάζουν ακόμα πιο δυσοίωνα. Γιατί όταν όλα μπλέκουν και όταν όλα συναντιούνται σε ένα θολό πεδίο επίκλησης του Έλληνα λαού, που πάντα ξέρει και ποτέ δεν καταλαβαίνει που παν τα τέσσερα, οι κριτικές στάσεις υποχωρούν ολοένα και περισσότερο και αυξάνει η σύγχηση η θολούρα και ο λαϊκισμός. In 1934, the political situation in France was tense and uncertain. The year began with a mobilization of royalist and fascist militias (on February 6) that were followed immediately (on February 9 and 12) by a response from the Communist and Socialist wings of the workers movement. As Norbert Guterman and Henri Lefebvre reported, “all these men are ready for the concrete liberation a revolution would bring – and perhaps also, unfortunately, the mystique and brutal mythology of the fascists” (1999 [1936], 143, trans. SK). When these lines were written in the mid-1930s, France was experiencing a rising tide of grassroots anti-fascist politics culminating in the strike waves of the early days of the Popular Front government. Yet Lefebvre and Guterman’s warning was well-placed. The Popular Front disintegrated due to many contradictions, ultimately giving rise to Marshall Pétain’s collaborationist administration, France’s contribution to fascist regime politics. read full story / add a comment

Rimbombantes declaraciones en todos los medios de prensa de diversos actores condenando al gobierno de Maduro, algunos reconociendo a Guaidó como Presidente, otros distanciándose de ambos, como si todo lo que está en juego en Venezuela ahora mismo, se dirimiera en el reconocimiento o no de un gobierno determinado. El tema es mucho más de fondo, y como ya lo hemos abordado en otras ocasiones, intentaremos aquí hacer un análisis coyuntural específico cuya trama es mucho más compleja. Στην Ελλάδα ειδικά, ο φασισμός έχει ένα επιπλέον όπλο που λέγεται Μακεδονικό το οποίο δημιουργήθηκε λόγω των ειδικών ιστορικών συνθηκών του εμφυλίου και της εκστρατείας της ντροπής των αρχών της δεκαετίας του 90. Αυτή η ιδιαιτερότητα δεν αλλάζει σε τίποτα την ουσία του. Όπως παντού έτσι κι εδώ οι φασίστες και οι εθνικιστές στο όνομα του έθνους είναι οι νεκροθάφτες του πλανήτη και της ανθρωπότητας. Είναι ακόμη πιο σιχαμένοι από τους φασίστες του 30 και πολύ πιο επικίνδυνοι. Um apelo à unidade da esquerda socialista é amplamente ouvido em toda África do Sul, mas ele é frequentemente interpretado como um chamado à unidade da práxis (unidade no programa teórico e na ação). Isso muitas vezes é enquadrado como a transcendência de velhas divisões (estas vistas como antiquadas, sectárias ou descartadas como dogmáticas), e outras vezes como unidade a fim de agir (retoricamente posta como o oposto da teoria de gabinete).
O que nós, anarquistas revolucionários, pensamos?

Bernie Sanders, we hear, is interested in running for President in 2020. Bernie has once again shot himself in the foot before the starter’s gun goes off. Sanders best known Trump-like statement was calling Venezuelan revolutionary President Hugo Chavez “a dead communist dictator.” Now Sanders, while bucking the establishment on regime change in Venezuela, remains woefully uninformed about neoliberalism’s effects on a global level, and therefore cannot be taken seriously as an agent of radical change. Sanders released a statement on Venezuela that had nothing of substance in relationship to the 1%, neoliberalism, neocolonialism or any of the driving forces of a clear political crisis in the country. Instead, Sanders merely echoed right-wing talking points on Venezuelan President Nicholas Maduro, and then, almost as an aside, said the U.S. intervening in Latin America, well, it ends badly. read full story / add a comment

Ας συνδυάσουμε όλο τον πλούτο που έχουμε γεννήσει τις τελευταίες δεκαετίες. Την αυτοοργάνωση, τον αντιφασισμό (θα βρούμε πολλούς πατριώτες μπροστά μας, να μην αφήσουμε στους φασίστες χώρο), την κριτική στον σπισισμό και την καταστροφή της φύσης, την μάχη ενάντια στην πατριαρχία (η απληστία και η αδιαφορία για τη φύση είναι συγκροτητικό της πατριαρχίας), τις πρακτικές άμεσης δράσης. Η μόνη ρεαλιστική προσέγγιση της αλλαγής του κλίματος είναι αυτή που αναγνωρίζει την ανισότητα στην κοινωνία μας. Οι πολιτικές του νεοφιλελευθερισμού, και ειδικότερα η τιμολόγηση του άνθρακα, συνιστούν συνταγή για αποτυχία. Οι εργαζόμενοι και οι κοινότητες που εξαρτώνται σήμερα από μη βιώσιμες βιομηχανίες αξίζουν μια δίκαιη μετάβαση. Τα πρότυπα διαβίωσης της εργατικής τάξης στο σύνολό της πρέπει να προστατεύονται για να διατηρήσουν την κοινωνική στήριξη για τη μετάβαση σε μια οικονομία χωρίς άνθρακα. Η τιμή της μετάβασης πρέπει να βαρύνει εκείνους που έχτισαν και επωφελήθηκαν από μη βιώσιμες βιομηχανίες - τους καπιταλιστές. Εν ολίγοις, πρέπει να καταργήσουμε τον καπιταλισμό. The only realistic approach to climate change is one that recognises the inequality in our society. The policies of neo-liberalism, in particular carbon pricing, are a prescription for failure. Workers and communities currently reliant on unsustainable industries deserve a just transition. Working class living standards as a whole must be protected to maintain social support for a transition to a carbon free economy. The price of the transition must be borne by those who built and profited from unsustainable industries – the capitalists. In short, we need to abolish capitalism.
