Sobre los hechos acontecidos el 9 de Mayo del 2017, donde la fuerza pública arremetió contra la comunidad nasa de Corinto, sin importarle lo más mínimo los derechos humanos; con operativos del ESMAD, de la policía y, de la fuerza militar. En los hechos falleció Daniel Felipe Castro, quién fue impactado en dos ocasiones, por el hombro y por el costado izquierdo, lo que generó que por las heridas en los pulmones y el derramamiento de sangre interno, muriera por paro respiratorio cuando ya iba camino a Cali a ser atendido, en las cercanías de Padilla. Por otro lado, un periodista del colectivo Enraizando también fue herido por un impacto de bala en la parte del abdomen bajo por la espalda, generándole afectaciones en el sistema intestinal, y se encuentra ahora en tratamiento médico, estabilizado luego de una primera cirugía. read full story / add a comment

Ο Βαρδής ήταν ένας άνθρωπος ξεχωριστός, δύσκολος αλλά ευθύς, απότομος αλλά ειλικρινής, ασυμβίβαστος ακόμα και όταν ένοιωθε το τέλος να πλησιάζει, μένοντας αταλάντευτος στις αξίες και στα ιδανικά του. Although this is mostly a descriptive book, without much emphasis in theoretical debates, there is in it a wealth of thought-provoking ideas that have universal value. That this experience is relevant beyond the borders of Syria is proved by the extraordinary reception to this book. Pluto Press is already thinking of the second edition and recently, Ercan Ayboga, one of the co-authors, had a tour in Ireland, North and South, to launch the book; this brought him from Cork to Belfast, with stops in Dublin, Cavan and Dungannon. The focus on the Israel-Palestine one apartheid state is more and more in the world media. Frustrated from the Palestinian Authority yielding to the Israeli needs the Fatah opposition initiated the prisoners hunger strike of 1700 inmates which may ignite a mass revolt of the Palestinians of the west bank. Globally and in South Africa, the capitalist system is becoming more and more unstable. Over the last period, the responses of the ruling classes in many parts of the world to this growing crisis has been a turn to authoritarianism. This has been done to hold onto power and to increase their control over wealth. Factions within ruling classes, in countries such as South Africa, are also engaged in a battle over shrinking opportunities to accumulate wealth. Competition between factions within ruling classes is, therefore, also intensifying. This too is feeding into an intensification of imperialist rivalries. The consequences are that over the last few months the threat of large scale war globally, as part of a show down between imperialist powers, has become an awful possibility.
The only force capable of changing this situation is the working class locally and internationally. Yet to do so, struggles need to come together, new forms appropriate to combating a rampant and growing authoritarian form of neoliberalism are needed; and such struggles need to be infused with a revolutionary progressive politics. While struggles are taking place in different parts of the world, none as yet have come to hold these three ingredients on a large scale.

Το παρακάτω κείμενο συνιστά συμβολή του αδερφού μας κοινωνικού ραδιοφώνου και ενάντια στην εξουσία «Ké Huelga Radio» σε ένα διάλογο που άνοιξε το 2014 στο Μεξικό σε σχέση με τα μέσα αντιπληροφόρησης ή αλλιώς τα «ελεύθερα μέσα», όπως τα ονόμασαν τότε οι Ζαπατίστας. Το μεταφράζουμε για τρεις λόγους: 1) για να γνωστοποιήσουμε τις θέσεις του ραδιοφώνου με το οποίο συνεργαζόμαστε και το λόγο του οποίου μεταφέρουμε στα ελληνικά· 2) για να μεταφερθεί στην ελληνική γλώσσα ένα τμήμα του διαλόγου για τα μέσα αντιπληροφόρησης που διεξάγεται σε μια περιοχή με άνθηση στο συγκεκριμένο τομέα· και 3) για τον εμπλουτισμό ενός πιθανού διαλόγου στην ελλαδική πραγματικότητα των ελεύθερων μέσων. read full story / add a comment

El pasado 2016 fue un año más agraz que dulce para el movimiento sindical que se organiza dentro de la región chilena: a pesar de una lucha tenaz, la patronal ha endurecido sus posiciones, sumado a la crisis profunda que atraviesa actualmente la Central Unitaria de Trabajadores. Si por un lado, tanto la aprobación de la reforma laboral como las derrotas de las huelgas o movilizaciones obreras más importantes (SODIMAC o el sector público) se muestran como un claro termómetro del conflicto capital-trabajo en el país, fenómenos como el movimiento No+AFP o la renovación de la directiva del Colegio de Profesores dan cuenta de potencialidades que, aunque todavía en ciernes, podrían inclinar la balanza favorablemente a los trabajadores en un futuro no tan distante. read full story / add a comment

En la Provincia de Arauco, no hay muchas oportunidades de trabajo; así una gran parte de la población ve en el ingreso a la industria forestal la única salida para poder sobrevivir. Hace 10 años la Provincia se encontraba en un estado de agitación extrema. Más de 5000 trabajadores de la Empresa Bosques Arauco –propiedad del Grupo Angelini- se habían lanzado a la huelga, hartos de los salarios de hambre, que una de las ramas económicas más importantes del país, les entrega a cambio de la venta de su fuerza de trabajo. Muchos no percibían más de $60.000 de sueldos base. Además de la cuestión salarial, la movilización hacia hincapié en la necesidad de no hacer distinción de ningún tipo entre trabajador@s de planta y subcontratados, una demanda central que hoy con más fuerza que en aquel entonces, es impulsada por las fracciones más activas del nuevo movimiento obrero que empieza a emerger. read full story / add a comment

Θα είμαστε εκεί αν προσπαθήσουν να εκκενώσουν την Rosa Nera. Όχι μόνο ως σύντροφοι δίπλα στους συντρόφους μας, αλλά και ως κομμάτι αυτού του τόπου. Για να υπερασπιστούμε έμπρακτα ως τοπική κοινωνία, την ελευθερία μας να οργανωνόμαστε και να αγωνιζόμαστε ενάντια στο ψέμα, την αλλοτρίωση, την εκμετάλλευση και την καταπίεση. Ενάντια στις «αξίες» δηλαδή πάνω στις οποίες οικοδομήθηκε και συνεχίζει να οικοδομείται η Κρήτη της Ευρωπαϊκής Ένωσης, της επιχειρηματικότητας και της «ανάπτυξης». Θα είμαστε εκεί, για να υπερασπιστούμε το δικαίωμά μας να διεκδικούμε έναν τόπο ελεύθερο από τα δεσμά του κεφαλαίου και της μικροεξουσίας.
