Να μιλήσουμε λοιπόν χωρίς φόβο στους κοντινούς μας ανθρώπους, για τα καλά και για τα άσχημα. Να χτίσουμε επιτέλους σχέσεις πραγματικές και όχι φαινομενικά ειλικρινείς. Μόνο τότε θα μπορέσουμε να επιτεθούμε αποτελεσματικά στους υπαίτιους για τα διάχυτα προβλήματα στις κοινωνικές μας σχέσεις (μιλάμε για τις καπιταλιστικές κοινωνικές σχέσεις του «όλοι εναντίον όλων» που μας έφτασαν εδώ). Να δούμε τους διπλανούς μας στα μάτια και ας αγωνιστούμε για νέες σχέσεις στη βάση των πραγματικών μας αναγκών και όχι των επίπλαστων καταναλωτικών. Άλλωστε ένα ηλιοβασίλεμα είναι πιο ωραίο και αληθινό από το τελευταίο i-phone που μπορεί να το βγάλει φωτογραφία… read full story / add a comment

A constant fixation on the machinations of elite power manoeuvring, and persistent, recurring calls for either new leadership, or new political parties, are evidence of a very conservative and authoritarian political culture. These stories may well be important. Indeed, this is the nature of current socio-economic organisation (capitalism and the state). These human-created forms of control always operate to centralise power up the hierarchy, thus investing tremendous power in the hands of very few. This few – race, gender, rhetoric regardless – the ruling class, are those who control the means of production, administration and coercion. Our pre-occupations are drawn to such elite individuals and groups as many of us have chosen to hand over our political power and future to these. Now this political culture usually results in the general and often vain belief and hope that through hierarchical, fundamentally undemocratic organisation, leaders invested with this incredible power are somehow to create the foundations for a more equal society and world. Also important to consider is that all political parties, no matter the colour of its beret, whether in control of the state or seeking to attain this control, centralise the power of decision-making upwards, and are thus fundamentally authoritarian and anti-democratic. read full story / add a comment

Τη Δευτέρα 9/5 είχε προγραμματιστεί συναυλία της Ενάτης του Μπετόβεν από την Κρατική Ορχήστρα Θεσσαλονίκης στο Μέγαρο Μουσικής με αφορμή τη μέρα της Ευρώπης. Η Ελευθεριακή Πρωτοβουλία Θεσσαλονίκης μαζί με συντρόφους/ισσες πραγματοποίησε παρέμβαση με πανό και μοίρασμα κειμένων έξω από το Μέγαρο Μουσικής ως μια ελάχιστη προσπάθεια να καταδείξουμε την υποκρισία της Ευρώπης των αφεντικών, του σύγχρονου ολοκληρωτισμού. Η παρέμβαση βρήκε θετική ανταπόκριση από αρκετό κόσμο που πήγαινε να παρακολουθήσει τη συναυλία ενώ απολαυστικά ήταν τα βλέμματα μίσους αρκετών αστών και "μένουμε Ευρώπη" στη θέα του πανό. read full story / add a comment

Ποια υποκείμενα αγωνίστηκαν και πολέμησαν μέσα ή στο πλάι του ΕΑΜ-ΕΛΑΣ, τι τα ώθησε και τι προσδοκούσαν; Γιατί οι προλεταριακές και λαϊκές συνοικίες της Αθήνας και του Πειραιά, συγκροτημένες ήδη από τον μεσοπόλεμο, έγιναν προπύργια της επανάστασης της δεκαετίας του '40; Μπορούμε να μιλήσουμε για διαδικασία συγκρότησης τάξης/τάξεων ήδη από το '22 και για ταξική πάλη (με μια ευρεία έννοια, και όχι με τη στενή έννοια της σύγκρουσης μισθωτής εργασίας - κεφαλαίου) που φτάνει στο αποκορύφωμά της και ταυτόχρονα την αρχή της συντριβής της το '44; read full story / add a comment

Across the political spectrum, individuals and organisations have been expressing their disgust and shock that a faction – indeed a single family, the Guptas – have ‘captured’ the state. Consequently, there have been calls for state ‘capture’ to be ended though firing Zuma. The Gupta’s offering cabinet posts to politicians, if true, was brazen and corrupt. While the fact that a section of capitalists – in this case a family – have such influence over the state should disgust us; it should not come as a surprise. To understand why, it is important to look at what states are, why they arose, and whose interests they serve. Coupled to this, it is essential to look at a few examples of how the state and capitalism in South Africa have always been defined by cronyism and corruption. read full story / add a comment

Λόγω της φανερής έλλειψης συνδικαλιστικών δομών στους χώρους δουλειάς, της ξεπουλημένης γραφειοκρατικής ηγεσίας της ΓΣΕΕ και του συνδικαλισμού που ταυτίζεται με τις μικροπολιτικές κομμάτων τύπου ΠΑΜΕ, υπάρχει ένα μεγάλο κενό στις διεκδικήσεις των εργαζομένων απέναντι στα αφεντικά. Αυτό το κενό θα προσπαθήσουμε να καλύψουμε μέσω του συντονισμού που θέλουμε να φτιάξουμε, με σκοπό να προσεγγίσουμε εργαζόμενους και να συσπειρωθούμε μαζί τους γύρω από τον συνδικαλισμό βάσης. read full story / add a comment |
