Frente a la arremetida del gobierno nacional y su locomotora minero-energética nos hemos visto obligados a salir al primer paro minero nacional este 17 de julio. Nos ha obligado la falta de una legislación favorable al pequeño minero tradicional, la imposibilidad de una legalización de nuestra actividad por la falta de áreas libres para ser adjudicadas, la falta de oportunidades para la legalización que injustamente se ha negado pese a que muchos mineros llevamos más de 13 años en este proceso, la iniciativa que viene adelantando Minerales Andinos de Occidente, filial de la Gran Colombia Gold, para la integración de áreas de los títulos ubicados en la zona alta del cerro el burro y sus áreas colindantes. read full story / add a comment

Sebbene nel corso degli anni molti compagni abbiano perso entusiasmo, sebbene alcuni siano esausti ed altri siano emigrati, la lotta prosegue - sia sul versante della lotta per la giustizia sociale che sul versante della lotta unitaria contro l'occupazione nonché contro le pressioni all'interno di Israele per sgomberare i Palestinesi. Monta la pressione internazionale suffragata dalle lotte locali e sembra crescere di qualità di pari passo con i timori del governo israeliano. Infatti sul quotidiano israeliano Haaretz si può leggere uno degli editoriali più interessanti della fine-settimana: "...Contrariamente alle affermazioni di Bennett, fonti a Gerusalemme sostengono che la minaccia di un boicottaggio europeo verso Israele sia reale". El día sábado 13 de Julio finalmente salieron libres 6 de los 8 presos de La Marina. El día viernes, durante la última audiencia, todos fueron absueltos del proceso en el que se les imputaba los cargos de rebelión y financiación a “grupos terroristas” mediante fallo del Juzgado Primero Penal del Circuito Especializado de Ibagué. Aún no se ha hecho del todo justicia, pues sólo salieron libres Edwin Lugo Caballero, Arcesio Díaz, Saan Maceto Marín, Alexander Guerrero, Fredynel Chávez y Aycardo Morales Guzmán; quedan aún dos compañeros tras las rejas: José Norbey Lugo Caballero y Armando Montilla Rey. Con la alegría de que se haya caído este nuevo montaje judicial, pero con la clara conciencia de todo lo que queda por hacer nos despedimos. No está de más mencionar que si uno de los objetivos de la consolidación militar es destruir el tejido social de los campesinos, para que se disgreguen, no se asocien, para que no hablen, para que vivan con miedo, les debemos responder con más red, con más solidaridad, con más organización, con más decisión. read full story / add a comment

Though many comrades have lost their enthusiasm along the years and some dropped out entirely or emigrated, the struggle continues - both in the struggle for social justice and the joint struggle against the occupation and the transfer pressures within Israel. The mounting world pressure, energized by the local struggles, seems to be increasing qualitatively as are the fear of them by the Israeli elite. The most interesting news in this weekend's articles and editorial of the daily newspaper Haaretz: "...Contrary to Bennett's statements, sources in Jerusalem say the threat of European boycotts on Israel is real". Excerpt: "... a large number of those investment committees [of the banking system] considered recommending to the banks to prohibit loans or aid of any kind to Israeli companies that operate in the West Bank − manufacturing there, selling their products, building homes and so forth − and also to Israeli banks that grant mortgages to home builders or buyers across the Green Line.
