Para colocar o legado de Chávez no seu lugar é necessário combater algumas teses que não se sustentam. A primeira é propalada por alguns grandes meios de comunicação que teimam em chamá-lo de ditador para baixo e induzir a entendermos que existe uma grande massa de venezuelanos contra o seu governo. Trata-se de conjecturas insustentáveis do ponto de vista factual. O governo Chávez foi o que mais respeitou a Constituição do país e a ampla maioria da população esteve ao seu lado. A segunda tese é defendida pelos chavistas quando afirmam estar em curso na Venezuela uma revolução que seria responsável por estabelecer o “socialismo do século XXI”. Com efeito, de antemão afirmamos que o governo de Chávez não acabou com o capitalismo, nem proporcionou o autogoverno popular. Destarte, não tocou nos principais aspectos da exploração e do absurdo de ser governado por outrem. Assim, já podemos descartar as alusões ao socialismo ou ao poder popular ditas por seus defensores. A Venezuela continua capitalista e com uns governando outros. read full story / add a comment
