We do not doubt that they will be celebrating with the most expensive champagne in Chacao. Naturally that is not our feeling, nor is it that of the Venezuelan masses. We can only feel solidarity with them in their sense of grief over the passing of one who in recent years was their undisputed leader and benchmark for the popular movement across the continent. En el marco del florecimiento de diversas iniciativas libertarias en Chile durante las últimas dos décadas, la cuestión de género y la lucha feminista ha sido un aspecto relativamente débil en comparación con el desarrollo de otros frentes de lucha. Cuestión sorprendente, debido al conservadurismo imperante en el país que ha hecho que incluso una ley de divorcio sea una cuestión bastante reciente. Pese a todo, existieron diversas iniciativas que, aunque no lograron cuajar, fueron dejando una cierta impronta: en el 2011 el colectivo Sucias, posteriormente el Colectivo de Género Libertario, que fueron problematizando en torno al género y dejando su marca en el movimiento y en el pensamiento libertario criollo. Dentro de este marco de impulso del pensamiento libertario, diferentes libertarias y libertarios han venido intercambiando y debatiendo en torno a la necesidad de hacer una crítica explícita y radical contra el patriarcado. Así es como nace la nueva experiencia organizativa de La Alzada, Acción Feminista Libertaria, que será presentada en público el día 9 de Marzo en Santiago de Chile. Hemos sostenido una interesante conversación con las compañeras de esta agrupación para profundizar en sus planteamientos y entender mejor cómo madura esta nueva apuesta libertaria, a la cual le deseamos, desde esta tribuna, todo el éxito en este emprendimiento por aportar desde una trinchera más a la transformación radical de nuestra opresiva y autoritaria sociedad. This article aims to explain, from an anarchist / syndicalist perspective, the rapid rise and fall of Julius Malema, the controversial and corrupt multi-millionaire leader of South Africa’s ruling party, the African National Congress’s (ANC’s) “youth league” (ANCYL). It is demonstrated that Malema’s posturing as radical champion of the black poor was simply a means to an end: rising higher in the ranks of the ANC, in order to access bigger state tenders and higher paying political office. The larger political implications of the Malema affair are also considered, especially the role of the ANC – as a vehicle for the accumulation of wealth and power by the rising black elite, which is centred on the state. read full story / add a comment
