Cuando la Casa Blanca anunció la reanudación de las relaciones diplomáticas con La Habana, algunos medios de comunicación brasileños pidieron que hiciera un análisis. Me acerqué al tema desde un punto de vista y no de forma ideológica geoestratégica. Hago aquí un resumen de esta contribución, entendiendo que la cuestión sigue abierta. El acercamiento gradual entre los EE.UU. y Cuba fue anunciado en cuarto de la tarde, 17 de diciembre, con la debida solemnidad. Al mismo tiempo, el presidente estadounidense Barack Obama y el comandante en jefe (con estado general), Raúl Castro, informaron al mundo y especialmente a América Latina que las relaciones entre los dos países se someterán a una distensión progresiva.
