De Westelijke revolutionairen moeten druk uitoefenen op hun regering om te verhinderen dat het Egyptische regime dit doet. Dat is voor nu, maar niemand kan zeggen wat er op de lange termijn zal gebeuren. Als de revolutie gewonnen wordt dan zullen de westerse revolutionairen solidariteit met hun Egyptische kameraden moeten vormen tegen de verwachte agressie van de VS en Israël. Los revolucionarios occidentales deben presionar a sus gobiernos para evitar que el régimen egipcio continúe con esto. Esto es por ahora, pero nadie sabe lo que ocurrirá a largo plazo. Si esta revolución es exitosa, entonces, los revolucionarios occidentales deben solidarizarse con sus camradas egipcios en contra de las agresiones que podemos esperar de los EEUU y de Israel. Social systems don't live forever. They have their own internal contradictions, which produce systemic crises. Capitalism is no different; someday it will end. The question we are addressing is whether it will be followed by barbarism, mass death, and barrenness, or by a better world. The current crisis is not only one of greatly increased attacks on the working class and oppressed people but is also a fundamental crisis of the system itself. We cannot predict the demise of the system, something in which the working class and oppressed people must also play a conscious part. We can, however, state that this is the most serious crisis of capitalism since the 1930's--and that one was only "solved" by World War II. An understanding of today's world crisis must begin at the end of that previous crisis. read full story / add a comment

This January, in Boston, NEFAC's US section continued our progress toward our own reformation. We enacted a constitution and a new internal structure that were developed over the spring and summer of 2008. We dedicated time to analyze the situation we face, in which the capitalist class faces difficulty in propping up its rotting order, and proves itself willing to stretch and to take risks to do so. Most of the working class in the US remains on the defensive, but many in the social movements are also discovering openings to move things forward. NEFAC-US members compared our local experiences and discussed strategies to advance our socialist and libertarian vision in the context of this crisis. After a long period of introversion and local focus, we see these as important steps toward building a fresh, publicly active, class-struggle anarchist group rooted primarily in the northeastern United States.
