A muchos parece haber impresionado que hace poco los zapatistas, englobados alrededor del EZLN (Ejercito Zapatista de Liberación Nacional) y dentro de su participación en el CNI (Congreso Nacional Indígena) que llevó a cabo su quinto congreso, precisamente durante su 20 aniversario de nacimiento, hicieron un declaración conjunta en la que manifiestan, además de continuar con su lucha desde abajo y a la izquierda, participar articuladamente en hacer una deliberación en todas las localidades de los procesos adheridos al CNI. Esta deliberación será sobre lo decidido en este quinto congreso, además de escoger un grupo de personas que conformaran un Consejo Indígena de Gobierno, del cuál emergerá una mujer indígena que será candidata tanto del CNI como del EZLN para las elecciones mexicanas del 2018. read full story / add a comment

Hace poco hace 97 años (el 10 de Abril), moría Emiliano Zapata tras ser manipulado y engañado para ser abatido en una emboscada donde ni siquiera se encontraba preparado por las fuerzas estatales. Un militante, un revolucionario social que hasta el último día de vida luchó por la transformación total de la sociedad de forma conjunta con el pueblo, para alcanzar la verdadera justicia social. Zapata ,si bien nunca se definió o se tuvo conocimiento de un conciencia deliberadamente anarquista, su praxis y su lucha por la Tierra y la Libertad, son evidentemente una praxis libertaria. Además, es claro que se agrupó durante el periodo de la revolución mexicana, con gran cantidad de individuos libertarios, que variaban desde militantes del Partido Liberal Mexicano, durante su periodo comunista libertario, cuando había una enorme influencia magonista; hasta otras organizaciones como fueron las feministas libertarias, Las Hijas de Anahuac. El racismo, elemento estructural en la sociedad capitalista, especialmente en la norteamericana, está intacto lamentablemente, pero también la resistencia y lucha del pueblo negro y de los pobres del norte. Van Deusen and Adie were part of the larger progressive United! slate which swept into leadership positions capturing 14 of the 15 seats on the Vermont State Labor Council’s Executive Board. Like Black Rose/Rosa Negra, we also see new possibilities arising for the development of Popular Power by combining the organized forces of the exploited, dominated, and oppressed classes together. The I-5AF supports "Turning the Tide".
In May of 2023 several Black Rose / Rosa Negra (BRRN) militants organizing in the healthcare sector attended the Health Autonomy Convergence (HAC) in Durham, North Carolina. This is their collective reflection on and analysis of the event and of the prospects for radical labor organizing in healthcare more generally.
There is a difference between strategic divergence and ideological opposition. Nevertheless, even in tendencies that have relatively high ideological affinity, this misunderstanding can be found and has consistently led to splits in both anarchism and in popular movements. Some tendencies do not aim to organize on the political level, and in our current context, it makes sense to elaborate on the particular organizational and strategic problems with this kind of anarchist politics because, for us, part of our role as a small engine within a growing Popular Power is to keep generating and dissipating liberatory theory and practices.
