Durant cette terrible période bien évidemment, nous nous tenons au côté du peuple Haïtien. Nous leur apportons tout notre soutien, leur peine étant notre peine, et depuis ce forum nous appelons nos lecteurs et plus généralement tout le monde affecté par la tragédie à aider Haïti, au travers des organisations humanitaires qui ont lancé un appel, afin d’apporter un soulagement, un secours, et une aide à la population dans ces terribles conditions.

Seit dem 11. 12. 2009, gilt faktisch für die FAU Berlin ein Gewerkschaftsverbot. Das Urteil erfolgte ohne mündliche Verhandlung. Selbst die Tatsache, dass durch die Neue Babylon GmbH, mit der sich die FAU Berlin seit Monaten im Arbeitskampf befindet, überhaupt eine Klage anhängig gemacht wurde, wurde der FAU Berlin nicht bekannt gegeben. Das Urteil geht weit darüber hinaus, dass der FAU Berlin die betrieblichen Rechte als Gewerkschaft aberkannt werden. Sie darf sich mit sofortiger Wirkung noch nicht einmal mehr als „Gewerkschaft“ bezeichnen. Si observamos cómo el movimiento libertario nacional e internacional ha desarrollado trabajo en los llamados barrios obreros, villas o poblaciones, podremos apreciar que se ha pecado de una escasa perspectiva estratégico-táctica, lo que se traduce en la poca importancia que se le da a las proyecciones en este frente de lucha. Si bien no buscamos plantear esto como una crítica a otras organizaciones de nuestra corriente, creemos que faltan elementos disparadores de un debate abierto y necesario en torno a este (a nuestros ojos) error. read full story / add a comment

The cancellation of the December 3rd strike is a blow to the developing movement against the cuts on the scale of the cancellation of the March 30th strike at the start of the year. The so called compromise ICTU have been negotiating for is a further blow, it seems designed to drive a wedge between workers and fails to answer the main problem public sector workers have, the inability to take further cuts. But the strike that did happen on 24th November has brought 250,000 workers into their first experience of the power we collectively hold and points towards an alternative read full story / add a comment

Mano a mano che si esaurisce l'effetto degli ammortizzatori sociali, con una prevedibile depressione occupazionale in febbraio 2010, si avviano i processi di ristrutturazione delle aziende nella direzione di un adeguamento della produzione al mercato contemporaneamente ad espulsione di forza-lavoro. Lo si avverte soprattutto nel settore metalmeccanico, chimico, ceramica, gomma-plastica, tessile, artigianato, in ossequio all'indicazione proveniente da Federmeccanica e Confindustria, per le quali per salvare le aziende, si deve procedere a licenziamenti. Aujourd’hui, la nécessité de la grève générale, la nécessité de synthétiser les mécontentements grandissants de tous les salariés, chômeurs et précaires, germe dans les mouvements. Sans prise de conscience globale, sans lutte d’ensemble, il sera de plus en plus difficile de faire avancer quoi que ce soit pour quelle catégorie que ce soit. Notre salut est encore une fois dans l’union active de tous les travailleurs. Cependant, il faut maintenir les liens apparus dans les mouvements au risque de devoir repartir de zéro à chaque coup tordu du pouvoir. Pour que nécessité puisse devenir réalité, coordination et organisation sont d’une vitale nécessité, car aucun mouvement se voulant victorieux ne peut se contenter de se payer de mots. read full story / add a comment

Anarchism can learn a lot from the feminist movement. In many respects it already has. Anarcha-feminists have developed analyses of patriarchy that link it to the state form. We have learned from the slogan that "the personal is political" (e.g. men who espouse equality between all genders should treat the women in their lives with dignity and respect). We have learned that no revolutionary project can be complete while men systematically dominate and exploit women; that socialism is a rather empty goal--even if it is "stateless"--if men's domination of women is left in tact. This essay argues that anarchists can likewise learn from the theory of "intersectionality" that emerged from the feminist movement. Indeed, anarchist conceptions of class struggle have widened as a result of the rise of feminist movements, civil rights movements, gay and lesbian liberation movements (and, perhaps more contemporarily, the queer movements), disability rights movements, etc. But how do we position ourselves regarding those struggles? What is their relationship to the class struggle that undergirds the fight for socialism? Do we dismiss them as "mere identity politics" that obscure rather than clarify the historic task of the working class? On Thursday 29th October, the Civil Police of Rio Grande do Sul, under the command of Governor Yeda Crusius, broke into the premises of the Federação Anarquista Gaúcha. Police seized various materials such as posters, minutes of meetings, the hard disk of a computer and also the contents of refuse containers that were at the headquarters. They also tried to intimidate those who came to show their solidarity and names contained in the records of the organization's website. Two comrades were arrested and charged. [Ελληνικά] [Português]

Autonomous Action now has around 120 members. 12 branches sent delegates to the General Assembly representing Tyumen,Ufa, Nizhni Novgorod, Moscow, Irkutsk, Magnitogorsk, Novosibirsk, Barnaul, and Minsk. In addition two new groups based in Cheboksary and Kazan were admitted to the federation during the assembly and an individual member attended from St. Petersburg. Also attending as guests were the Union of Autonomous Youth, the youth wing of the Siberian Federation of Labour, a syndicalism union with approximately 6000 members, mainly in air traffic control, healthcare and public transport. 48 individuals were present in total.
