indonesia / philippines / australia / indigenous struggles / press release Saturday January 26, 2019 - 18:13 by Melbourne Anarchist Communist Group 1 image
So, this year and every year, the MACG joins the call to abolish Australia Day. Our vision is of a stateless communist society, a Workers’ Commonwealth worldwide and operating on the basis of consistent federalism. Here, in the land that is currently called Australia, the Workers’ Commonwealth will be the vehicle through which non-indigenous people work with, and learn from, indigenous people how to live sustainably in the land, as they did so successfully for over 60,000 years before the First Fleet brought British colonialism to these shores. ... read full story / add a comment

ireland / britain / anarchist movement / news report Friday December 14, 2018 - 08:34 by José Antonio Gutiérrez D. 1 image
On December 5th we were pained to hear about the untimely death of Alan MacSimóin, veteran anarchist, trade unionist and tireless organiser in Ireland. Today we said farewell to him at Glasnevin cemetery in Dublin, where many other revolutionaries before him have been put to rest. Many friends and comrades from all parties and movements of the left joined his family to bid farewell to this exceptional man. SIPTU, his trade union, had arranged a guard of honour for him. The previous night, the wake at the Teachers’ Club was equally well attended by comrades of all persuasions: from the Communist Party, the Socialist Party and the Socialist Workers Party, Sinn Féin, Workers Solidarity Movement, Workers’ Party, even Labour. He, as a true non-sectarian, had friends in every single left-wing party, a friendship nurtured in decades of activism. ... read full story / add a comment

The Melbourne Anarchist Communist Group have joined PUSH! Organising and Educating to Build an Anti-Fascist United Front. As its name implies, PUSH! aims to build a united front of working class organisations against Fascism. Our forces are modest, composed of a handful of groups and individual activists who have left CARF, but we are clear about our basic direction. ... The MACG will pursue our vision for an anti-Fascist united front within PUSH! We know that many groups in the labour movement don’t share our strategy, so they will have to be either won over or sidelined. And we know that the union bureaucracy is craven and conservative, but we place our faith in the rank and file workers who are Fascism’s targets. The struggle against Fascism is inseparable from the struggle against the union bureaucracy – but didn’t we know that already? ... read full story / add a comment

Do you think the fight of Kawa will last? Do you think the fire that he burned will be put out?
Hundreds of Dehaqs, in thousands of years, tried to put out that fire which is the struggle of freedom and justice.
Do you think that Kawa was just a statue that you can destroy?
No masters, in many geographies, had ability to destroy the ideas and the struggle of Kawa's, with their invasions or destructions.
Every winter has an end and the winters of the Dehaq's will be beaten by the fire of the spring and the fire of Kawas'.
Now it is time to make the fire of Kawa bigger, now it is time to make the fire of freedom bigger, now is Newroz time!
