The emergence of the B.D.S. finds its expressions in both the Israeli media, the ruling elite, and the medium level of the capitalists. The harassment of the Ni'ilin, Nabi Saleh, and Qaddum is not applied to Bil'in which is in the focus of international attention. It seems the state forces got specific orders to be much more "lenient" even with the stones throwing Shabab. Lot of the Israeli activists lost their persistence as the development on the ground is not expanding and the advance of the B.D.S. is too abstract for them. For many Israeli and the Palestinian activists the big picture is not clear enough and they do not feel that we are winning. They do not really feel the satisfaction from the fact that our joint struggle is the important leaning point the lever of the B.D.S. need for its success. During the whole time of this political project’s existence, its members tended to be committed to the most discredited, conservative and authoritarian “leftist” regimes and ideologies, which do not represent the interests of working classes in any way. ... read full story / add a comment

The acceleration of the B.D.S. and international pressure to yield a bit cause near panic in the more ideological Zionist elite. Their response is the acceleration of suppression of the Palestinians and efforts to transfer them from key areas that the die hards dream of holding for ever. The Israeli state force back the irregular settlers and initiate lot of action itself. The harassment of the Ni'ilin, Nabi Saleh, and Qaddum who are not in the focus of international media is more vicious than ever. Bil'in, that earned international fame and attention of media, got partial immunity. The chanting of the demonstrators expressed the real opinion on the two states pseudo solution: "free free Palestine from the river to the sea". The "no state redNblack flags" which the anarchist-communist Ahdut members hold high in Bil'in demos are accepted without any reservation. [Italiano] ... read full story / add a comment

The Israeli media is nearly obsessed with the escalation of the B.D.S. as if they know things they do not disclose. Both supporters and rejectors of the end of the occupation start to regard it as immanent and not in the far future. A section of the Israeli capitalist elite which is suffering from the boycott and fear its escalation start to organize to accelerate the end of occupation. 100 of them traveled for the Davos conference and official organization was established. On the ground, it seems that the efforts of the Israeli state forces escalate their repression of on going struggles and make more efforts to transfer villagers from strategic locations. Bil'in will celebrate the ninth anniversary of the ongoing struggle on the 28th of February. [Italiano] ... read full story / add a comment

The Ukraine is in the throes of a popular uprising, against its regime, which is becoming ever more repressive. Much of the mainstream media presents the image of a confrontation taking place between the two statist political factions in Ukraine: The governing coalition, led by President Yanukovich, which has recently backed away from a trade agreement with the EU, and is developing a close subservient relationship with Russia; and the smaller nationalist opposition, headed by the parties called the Blow, Homeland and Freedom, opposing this development and seeking to attach Ukraine more strongly to the EU. ---- This image is far from representing reality. The nationalist opposition is attempting to ride the wave of popular protest, which has broken out due to measures taken by the Ukrainian state. ... read full story / add a comment

The struggle at Ein Hiljeh continued till Thursday night. Israeli state forces harassed the activists throughout the week but due to the mounting world pressure refrained from arresting activists even during the eviction, only detaining a few of them for a short time. Instead, they did beat and injure dozens of them. The mounting effects of the B.D.S. have started to panic the Israeli elite and a significant part of it is starting to pressurise the government into yielding to the imperial demands. The Israeli media contemplates it daily. The ongoing grassroots struggle continues, though is not invigorated again yet. The struggle against the crawling transfer - mainly in the Jordan valley, the south of Hebron hills and the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood of East Jerusalem - continues. The anarchist communist organization Ahdut is increasing its involvement in the joint struggle against the occupation with the Bil'in grassroots popular activists. mashriq / arabia / iraq / community struggles / news report Tuesday February 04, 2014 - 22:04 by Ilan S.
At the beginning, the joint struggle was focused on specific routes of the separation fence. There were some achievements and many villages dropped from the regular struggle. The hope for a wide spread popular struggle was not fulfilled, but additional struggles were initiated and the struggles networked with sporadic joint actions. Lately the network of joint popular struggles started regular actions - the Ein Hijleh is the second one. The continued struggle draw the international attention and give essential base to the B.D.S. The persistent struggle saw seeds in the subterranean ferment that may sprout without a warning in the appropriate conditions. The persistence and the approaching avalanche of the B.D.S. energize the more far sighted activists. The joint struggle in Bil'in, Ni'ilin, Ma'asara, Nebi Saleh, Shikh Jarrah, Quaddum, and South of Hebron Hills keep going and hold the flag of struggle high. The Israeli media is ongoing reporting on the Israeli elite of the boycott on Israel that not only became significant economically and politically but also just two steps from avalanche. Lot of activists who do not understand that the battle will not be resolved here but in the international area lost heart as the immediate gains are small. They do not understand that the local struggle is the Archimedes point the lever of the B.D.S. is leaning on. So, the joint struggle continue. The international activists who come here carry the struggle in their countries when they return home. Whether understanding the importance of the joint struggle or not, hundred Israelis, and hundreds of Palestinians are every weekend in Bil'in, Ni'ilin, Ma'asara, Nebi Saleh, Qaddum, Sheikh Jarrakh, South of Hebron Hills, and sporadically in other locations too. Chilean Port workers in 14 northern and southern ports have been on strike, at various times, since late December 2013. The strike wave began in the northern Port of Angamos to continue the ongoing fight to win a paid half hour lunch break for port workers, for the integration of temporary workers into the union, and for reforms to the dictatorship-era labor law. The strike then hit other ports, with additional union members striking in support of the original demands and against the police brutality used against the Port of Angamos strikers. Responding to that accusation, Melissa Sepúlveda, President of the University of Chile Student Federation (FECh), and herself an anarchist and militant of the Frente de Estudiantes Libertarios and La Alzada, Acción Feminista Libertaria has issued the following statement. The mass murder of infants and women by the Greek state outside the island Farmakonisi is not an individual incident and absolutely not a tragedy, since ignorance is required for a tragedy to happen. It is one more result of the conscious murderous policy of Greece concerning the borders. Favored and motivated by the European Union policy of “Fortress Europe”, Dublin II Treaty, the formation of FRONTEX, Greece has installed a murderous mechanism in land and sea, whose stated target is in the best case the torture and in the worst the death of immigrants travelling towards Europe. ... read full story / add a comment

The clash that has lately been going on in Ramalla between the Palestinian Authority police and strikers' demonstration of employees of the United Nations agency stresses it again: the activists of the Anarchists Against the Wall initiative and many of the internationals and even many Palestinians are joining the struggle against the occupation and the settler project period. The expectations from a Palestinian state are low and marginal, and very few have any illusions about the expected freedom in the "free Palestine" they chant. The intensifying international pressure on Israel brings hesitant hopes about the nearing changes in the region. And the joint struggle continues in Bil'in, Ni'lin, Nabi Saleh, Qaddum, Ma'sara, Sheikh Jarrah, and the South Hebron Hills, with hesitant contemplations of joining from other villages. This week the focus of struggle enlarged a bit to include the ugly racist politics of the Israeli naZionist establishment regarding the refugees. The same strategy of sporadic vicious attacks to the background of ongoing harassment and pressure to get out applied to the Palestinians within the 1968 borders and the new 1967 ones is also being applied to the 53 thousand African refugees. The racism inbuilt in the Zionist settler colonialism which built Israel and expands it at every opportunity is only refraining from harsher measures because of international pressure. Though Israel never adopted international conventions (with the support of the overwhelming majority of its Jewish community), it did refrain from prolonged defiance of them. Thus, it did not kill the refugees freely on the border. It just made them as miserable as it can and put increasing numbers into concentration camps. [Italiano] ... read full story / add a comment

The merger between the Zionist leadership and the capitalist elite which started 1948 picked in the Tycoons dominance, at 20010. The "too successful" neo-liberalism was challenged by the social struggle, conflicts within the capitalist elite and threatened by international pressure yielded the diminishing power of the old order when the right lost its absolute power in the parliament depending now on the opponent of the milder Zionist right (Kachlon). It is not sure how fast the retreat in the neo-liberal trend and the defeat of the Tycoons combined with the international pressure will yield also retreat in the advance of the Zionist settler and transfer effort. Mean time the joint struggle continue in Bil'in, Ni'ilin, Nebi Saleh, Kadum, Ma'asarah, Southern Hebron Hills, Sheikh Jarrah, the Bedouins of the south, Dahamsh... with additional locations from time to time.

The minimal pressure of the imperial power on Israel to soften its pressures applied to the would be transfered Palestinians of the 1967 occupied areas have its results (more in the west bank than in the Gaza Ghetto). The about 100.000 Palestinians of the occupied territories are employed by Israelis. Most of the roadblocks were removed. The rebellion of the Palestinians in the west bank is channeled mostly through a small minority of activists in the joint and separate week end activities. People are like holding their breath to see if the culminated crisis in the international arena will yield a significant break throw. Today we, a group of autonomous environmental activists, hung a 40 square metre banner from the Holmenkollen ski jump to protest the Oslo Energy Forum. The forum is being held at Scandic Holmenkollen Hotel, which is located just a couple of hundred metres from the ski jump. There are two primary reasons for why we chose to have our banner action at this location: firstly, because it is a national landmark that lies in close proximity to the place where the forum is held, and secondly, because winter sports like skiing will be something only found in history books if the fossil fuel industry is allowed to continue at its current levels of pollution. Joint struggles were developed in various villages with various successes but only the struggle of Bil'in persisted for year after year holding high the flag of popular unarmed struggle and became the focus of attention and inspirations for Palestinians of the whole west bank, many thousands of international activists who joined us for short periods (and some for long ones)... spreading the news and the struggle after returning home. The forth presidential term of Alexander Lukashenko will expire in 2015. In 21 years Lukashenko has managed to suppress almost all social struggles in the country, kill several political opponents in the 90s, and eradicate nearly all of the official opposition. Lukashenko didn’t allow Belarusian society to transcend the limits of Soviet mentality. Any complaint or criticism of the government are met with repression from the police or the KGB. Any attempts of organizing face with prosecution and hysteria from the state. The policy of the government can be described simply as follows: “Everything that cannot be controlled must be destroyed”. At this moment Belarusian state is slowly but steadily getting to the extermination of any dissent or independent thinking.

textLate contemplations about the Charlie Hebdo massacre Mar 24 by Mazen Kamalmaz 0 comments

The attack on Charlie Hebdo last January was carefully designed to the full benefit of IS, but also to the benefit of the ruling Elite in the advanced capitalist world. It was not intended as punishment for Charlie Hebdo's satiric attitude toward what IS considers as "sacred", but as punishment for millions of Muslims who accepted such an attitude by their silence, especially Muslims who live in France and the west. IS, like everyone else, knew very well that Muslims in Europe and the west will be under heavier pressure after such an attack. IS offered Muslims only one way to defend themselves: to accept its fundamentalist hyper-dogmatic version of Islam and join its ranks - martyrdom and heaven through killing and suicide bombing. The message of IS was clear: freedom of conscience and expression is never a part of Muslims' identity, so it must be declined, denied and fought against. Both IS and the western elite accepted this as a "fact". [Italiano]

This essay is the beginning of an attempt to develop a left libertarian approach toward an economic model, specifically to a model which is compatible with the political formations of Democratic Confederalism, also referred to as Libertarian Municipalism. At this stage the goal is the development of a working set of tools of analysis, and foster learning among the Libertarian Left. To this end I submit this relatively simple text to provide accessible notions for those struggling to build a society based on Democratic Confederalism.

Among her works were Peregrinations of a Pariah (1839), Promenades in London (1840) and the booklet The Workers' Union (1843). [Castellano]
