The popular unarmed struggle of Palestinian communities joined by the Israeli Anarchists Against the Wall and others is not a struggle for the "national liberation" or "self determination" of the Palestinian nation. It is the struggle of Palestinian people, of which the overwhelming majority are working people, against the threat of transfer and the suppression and exploitation by the Israeli Zionist settler colonialist project. None of those involved in the struggle who are not in the Palestinian elite have illusions about the Palestinian elite and the state they will rule and manage after the end of the occupation. None of those involved in the struggle believe that the end of the direct occupation will solve the 1948 Nakba and the refugee problems. However, they still prefer the end of the occupation and independence from Israel, over direct Israeli rule, as it will not be an agent of transfer or of such brutal suppression and exploitation. Throughout the years Israel has tried to neutralize the pressure of more enlightened people by hiding its brute racism and murderous activities by recruiting the memory of the Holocaust as justification for all its heinous acts when revealed. However, as the masquerade has been exposed in recent years and more and more are disillusioned from the "Zionist dream", the restraints are being loosened fast. The rightists preach their extreme racist ideology in the open. The "paramilitarist" settlers get a freer hand. The transfer of Palestinians both within the 1948 borders and these occupied in 1967 is being done in the open. Though it is still restricted mainly to the Israeli area of the Bedouins in the south and the C agricultural regions of the 1967 borders, the "gloves" have been removed. In the same new mode, repression of the non-armed popular struggles has intensified in the last few weeks and we cannot guess what the limit of the new repression mode will be - if at all. For some years now the Kurdish movement has been moving in the direction of libertarian ideas. While not an anarchist movement, this move is a sign that anarchist ideas of freedom and equality through solidarity, our ideas of horizontality and radical direct democracy and our radical critique against the State are not only valid and strong, but are also necessary for movements in order to break away from the authoritarian legacy within the left. It is our duty to express our solidarity with Rojava and the Kurdish movement, because they represent hope in this region and because they are the oppressed fighting the oppressors. Real struggles are never perfect but they carry diverse degrees of potential to being about a free society. Expressing our solidarity with the revolutionary movement in Rojava means we understand our role is to continue developing the core tenets of our ideas in order to inspire revolutions and revolutionaries all over the world. - Editorial Group [Italiano] [Ελληνικά] [Castellano] [Français] ... read full story / add a comment

A physical confrontation between between the Israeli armed forces (and settlers) and a joint crowd of Israeli Jews and Palestinian activists in the 1967 occupied territories is so common that people do not sense its unique nature. In addition to PR disaster for the Zionist transfer project it also forced Israel to mostly exclude shooting with life ammunition fire to kill non armed Palestinian demonstrators whenever Israelis might participate. In addition to the usual locations of joint struggles, addition places Palestinians start protests we learn of from the media. The Israeli media to which the agreement with the Hamas about the end of the rocketing was not revealed, come again and again with facts and generals opinions which can only be explained as rationalization to changes forced on Israel in the agreement. Arkib (1948 Bedouins), Bil'in, Dahams (Ramla 1948 village), East Jerusalem (occupied 1967 mainly Sheikh Jarah, Shuafat, and the Bedouins of the region) Ma'asarah, Nabi Saleh, Ni'ilin, Qaddum, South of Hebron Hills - the main locations of the joint struggles the anarchists against the wall are involved in. As the Israeli pretending of striving for any kind of peace was exposed, the transfer efforts are intensified. It seems the hazards taking and gambling of Israel on the continuation of the occupation is increasing. The Israeli government count on the pro Israeli lobby of the US right and the strategic value of Israel in the present troubled time and recklessly disregard the mounting international pressure... though the Israeli officials and the public keep worrying in public about the economic and political pressures. Though Israel failed in its last open assault on the Gaza Strip, it still succeed in its transfer efforts. The drowning of a refugee ship with 450 mainly Gaza people reflect the partial success of Israel transfer efforts that for the never ended efforts since 1948. The siege on Gaza join the pressure on both Palestinians within the 1948 borders and that of the 1967. The big masses were driven out during the 1948 and 1967 wars, but efforts continued with all means possible. Some expelled by force some were moved within the border as pressure to "voluntary transfer". Within the 1967 borders, the Israeli efforts are targeted on the villages and Bedouins living in area C where the joint struggle to resist it is mainly focused in the South of Hebron Hills. And the joint struggle in Arkib, Dahamsh (1948 borders), and Bil'in, Ma'asara, Nabi Saleh, Ni'ilin, Qaddum, Sheikh Jarah (East Jerusalem) continue "as usual". The 50-day war on Gaza ended, after Israel begged for a ceasefire and yielded to major demands from Hamas (some kept in secret even from Israeli government ministers). A majority of Israelis admit that Israel did not win the war but with difficulty admit that Hamas had the upper hand. Ministers passed two weeks ago a classified Cabinet document containing a proposal to place an international force in Gaza, which may mean the end of Israel's occupation of the Gaza Strip and the opening of the Ghetto... and may be a precedent to what could be the end of the occupation of the West Bank). In Israel, the "radical" left is back to "normal"... though many more activists are contemplating joining the comrades who had already lost hope and emigrated. It seems the international pressures of the imperial powers and the advances of the boycott movement are bringing the end of the 1967 occupation sooner than expected. textPale-Isra - The one state the "realist" Zionists strived for and the (joint) struggle*. 13:36 Sun 08 Nov by Ilan S. 0 comments

In the beginning of the British mandate of the both sides of the Jordan, when Palestine was divided by the UK into two entities - each on one side of the Jordan, the secular national socialists accepted it while the rightist opposed. They still have in their movement anthem: "two sides to the Jordan - this side and the other are ours too". After Israel grabbed 75% of the west bank of Palestine in 1948 war, the Zionist elite of all trends was urging and waiting for opportunity to enlarge its share. The 1956 war failed to supply it but the 1967 one gave Israel all the west bank (and some more like Sinai - which it had to give back). The efforts to transfer the Palestinian out was successful in 1948 war, was less successful in the 1967 war, and much less substantial later - in spite of the efforts. The fear of transfer which inhibited the urge to struggle - both within 1948 borders and the enlarged 1967 ones is gradually dwindling and the non armed popular struggle - though hesitant, is gradually collecting momentum.

tacanka_ankara.jpg imageWe know those responsible for the Ankara bombing 20:04 Wed 14 Oct by Various 0 comments

They painted our red and black flags and banners with blood and flesh of our comrades. Those responsible for the massacre are out there. We know them from Haymarket, Bloody Sunday, Mayday 1977 Istanbul Massacre, Reyhanli, Gezi Uprising, Roboski Massacre, Diyarbakir Dungeons and Suruç. We know them from the daily exploitation of a thousand year. They stand before us merciless, smirking.

Although it has been orchestrated by the hands of ISIS gang, we know that, just like the Suruç Massacre, state and AKP who is holding state power in their hands are those who are in fact responsible for this massacre. We have seen once again that AKP is capable of doing everything not to lose the power and weaker it gets, more brutal it will get.

Below are two further statements from anarchists groups in the Turkish state on the Ankara bombing.

We remember Ali Kitapci, the first person to organise for the anarcho-syndicalist cause in modern Turkey. He was one of the 14 members of Independent Transportation Union killed in the Ankara bombing on Saturday. He first get involved with the anarchist movement in England and continued to be active for the last 30 years. Apart from his fight for syndicalism, he was an active member of many anarchist organisations in Ankara from the second half of 1980s. [Italiano]

textPalestine-Israel - The third Intifada is collecting momentum - The joint unarmed struggle continue* 00:38 Mon 12 Oct by Ilan S. 0 comments

The fiasco of the failed take over of the relatively independent Iraq and Syria, by US imperialism lead to the compromises with the independent Iran. Israel role of threat on Iran during the bargain gave israel increased freedom to suppress the Palestinians. The returning of Russia to the Syrian arena give Israel more rope and it use it to intensify the efforts to take over the area C lands of the west bank. The third intifada is a desperate response of the Palestinians who see that the end of occupation is removed to behind the horizon. The joint struggle continue not as a rising hope but as a stubborn Tsumud of not giving up. The intensifying attack of the Israeli state and its rightist agents ignited a lot of social and individual responses. The Israeli media and public is not in 100% support of the state activities. textPalestine-Israel, The non armed social struggle increase in response to increase in Israeli assaults... 20:54 Mon 21 Sep by Ilan S. 0 comments

The Israeli state which failed in its year ago offensive on the Hamas in Gaza, suffer also from its diminishing bargain power in the international arena, manipulate the internal discomfort of public opinions by increasing the encroachment on Palestinian spaces - both in the 1967 occupied west bank and within the 1948 borders. The diminishing in the support of the Israeli elite to the prime minister Netaniahu and his group push him to increase his political gambling that can crash him in the first big loss. His failure to pass his Gas scheme and the civil case in court in which his wife is grilled, may be the first signs of his approaching doom. In spite the efforts to lower the social pressure in the west bank by increasing the employment of west-bakers within Israel the popular resistance increase both in the occupied Jerusalem and in the west bank. textPalestine-Israel, The joint struggle really changed the world* 19:50 Sat 05 Sep by Ilan S. 0 comments

The failed arrest of 12 year old child in Nabi Saleh caused a million views storm in the media. This situation and the next Friday of the joint struggle demonstrated again how the involvement of the AATW Israeli Jews prevented in the past and prevent now the extinguishing of the non armed Palestinian struggle with rivers of blood. It was one shooting of Gil Naamati in 2003 in a joint action of the anarchists AATW that caused a real wide media scandal in Israel (which forced the higher commander of the army to visit him at hospital and apologize) that resulted in the change of shooting order about dispersing non armed demonstrations in the occupied lands when Israelis are involved. In addition to our helping to distribute the news, Our main contribution is the supply of "life insurance" to the Palestinians and even to the stone throwers in the demos.... though it is not perfect and along the years about 20 were killed and many more were injured. This pamphlet by the “enigmatic” title “Alpha below zero - Nemesis and new anarchy”, appeared online almost a year ago in Greek language by Anarpsy project. Anarpsy is a project about speech, theory and analysis in the context of social psychology, psychoanalysis, psychodynamic approach and psychiatry through Antiauthoritarian - Anarchist perspective, in order to analyse the reality of social and political phenomena. “Alpha below zero” is the second Anarpsy’s pamphlet. (The first was the “ELthnikismos (ΗELlenicNATIONALISM), - A contribution to the understanding of Greek nationalism”). “Alpha below zero” reflects a shift towards nihilism that exists into so-called neo-anarchists.

imageImperial Wars, Imperialism and the Losers: A Critique of Certain ‘Labour Aristocracy’ Theories Nov 16 by Lucien van der Walt 1 comments

As the 100th anniversary of the outbreak in August 1914 of World War One fades, let us remember that imperialism harms all working class people – including those in imperialist and Western countries, and the white working class.

It is often said that Western workers benefit from imperialism, or imperialist profits, or that welfare in the West is funded by imperialism – but all of these claims fall in the face of realities like World War One (1914-1918). This war – between Germany and Britain and their respective allies – was, at least in part, fought for a re-division of the European-ruled colonies.

imageWith the Working Class, Against Imperialism and Terror Attacks. Nov 15 by Lucien van der Walt 0 comments

Let us approach from the side of the struggle of working class and poor for freedom, and that means the struggle against all oppression and exploitation. From that side, be against imperialism, unconditionally, including whatever outrages the French state will now justify. But also be against reactionary anti-imperialists with reactionary programmes, and for a progressive anti-imperialism, like that of PKK in Rojava. The working class and left must lead anti-imperialist struggles, and work with progressive movements, including progressive anti-imperialists, to make a better world, pushing those struggles towards anarchist-communism.

To this day, Prairie Struggle was the only specific platformist organization in the Canadians prairies. Though some may recall the existence of an anarchist communist group in Regina affiliated to the ACF (Anarchist Communist Federation of North America) in the 80s, organized anarchism in the prairies has had many difficulties, some of which the Prairie Struggle Project has failed to overcome. Despite its downfall, Prairie Struggle, for one last time, offers a look into the organization, its failures and its small victories.
