Due to the Bil'in fifth international conference in which the Palestinian Prime minister Salam Fayad delivered a long speech, and the intensifying of the joint struggle, it was in the focus of the Palestinian media. In the Israeli media the joint struggle was in the media too, mainly in the context of the US pressure for compromise and the intensification of the struggle in Jerusalem. As the Friday was taken by the older locations of Bil'in, Ma'sara, Nebi Salih, and Ni'ilin - Silwan (Jerusalem), Walaja, Beit Jala, Beit Ummar and Hebron had to do their joint struggles on the other days of the weekend: Saturday and Sunday. The joint struggle continue and so is the declaration in public of the discontent of the state forces aroused by our participation in it. This Friday the anarchists against the wall initiative mobilized about 130 Israelis to the demonstrations at Bil'in, Jerusalem (Sheikh Jarrah), Ma'asara (south Bethlehem), Nabi Saleh (west of Ramalla), and Ni'ilin. Many of the participants in noon demos at Bil'in, Ma'asara, and Nabi Saleh continued to the late afternoon demo in Sheikh Jarrah. In spite of the increased threats in the media, the state repression was not at its height. ... read full story / add a comment

The lesser radical Israeli left involvement in the joint struggle against the separation fence and other aspects of occupation expand - both in Sheikh Jarrah and other places. The dignitaries of the Palestinian authority do so too... but with internal conflicts. It was expressed in a few hours arrest of a leader of the popular struggle in the south by the Palestinian authority police, after a joint action at Beit Omar. More than hundred people were mobilized on Friday by the anarchists against the wall initiative to the demonstrations at Bil'in, Ma'asara, Nebi-Saleh,Ni'ilin, and Sheikh-Jarrah. Saturday and Sunday we were in south of the west bank of occupied Palestinian. Saturday at Beit Omar and on Sunday we mark the end of the weekend in a demonstration in Beit Jalla. The joint struggle against land-confiscation of Palestinian citizens of Israel continue since 1948 war. At 1976 there was on 30/3 the first Land Day demonstrations against land grab at the Galilee. Six were murdered that day. "In the occasion of the Palestinian Land day and due to the arrests and the excessive use of force against demonstrators by the Israeli occupation army the Popular committees invite you to participate in demonstrations during this coming week." During the week we participated in Betunya Solidarity demo at the Ofer military court, and Budrus & Qarawet-Bani-Zeid Land Day demos. Friday we were at Bil'in, Ma'asara, Nabi-Saleh, Ni'lin, and Sheikh-Jarrah. Saturday we were at the Sakhnin central demo in Israel, and in Beit-Omar. [Italiano] ... read full story / add a comment

The joint struggle of Israeli anarchists against the wall initiative with Palestinian villages activists started in Mas'ha camp - spring 2003. That summer the joint direct actions against the separation fence started in Zabuba and Mas'ha and continued in various villages for a while. February 2005 started the persistent weekly joint actions - first in Bil'in, and 3 years later in Ni'ilin, and Ma'sara region - specifically Ma'sara village, Beit Ummar, and Beit Jala. Nabi Salih is enlargement of ongoing struggle to other aspects of the occupation - robbery of land and resources. Sheikh Jarrah is unique as its on going struggle is within occupied east Jerusalem and the struggle is against transfer. In parallel, we still continue with support to refugees from Africa and to our Refusniks. ... read full story / add a comment

In addition to the usual Bil'in, Ni'ilin, and Maasara, and the recently added Nabi Saleh and Sheikh Jarrah, we had Beit Jalla, Budrus and Beit Omar that were very militant years ago. In addition to these joint struggles the anarchists against the wall participated in, there were additional locations of struggle with Internationals or just local Palestinians. It seems that because of media (public) protests, the state forces refrained from blocking our way to the joint struggle in Bil'in, and were unusually restrained in the confrontation with the stone throwing youngsters. This weekend the Israeli anarchists against the wall initiative were involved in even more struggles in more locations that become regular fronts: Beit Jalla, Bait Omar, Bil'in, Jeb Altheeb, Ma'asara, Nabi Saleh, Ni'ilin, Sheikh Jarrah. The state forces continued half heartedly to prevent the access of demonstrators to come to Bil'in and Ni'ilin but failed. Many activists continued from the noon demonstrations to the one at Sheikh Jarrah. Last night (Monday early morning) at 02:00 AM, state forces entered the village. Many copies of a document was posted around the whole village. This document declared that Israeli and international activists were strictly prohibited from entering Bil'in between the hours of 8 am and 8 pm on every Friday, the day in which the weekly demonstration takes place. In spite of increase of state forces harassments the struggle expand. In addition to the "regular" Bil'in, Nabi Saleh, Ni'ilin, Ma'asara, and Sheikh Jarrah, Beit Omar seems to join the weekly schedule. Beit Jalla that seems to be less in the focus lately, got a regional convergence this week. Jafa (annexed to Tel Aviv) had this Saturday another joint struggle - this time around escalation in repression of Palestinian citizens by police. during the week we had prison/court support actions for Israeli activist (contesting a verdict of one month in jail for bogus assault on gendarmes in a joint action) and with Bil'iners held in the Ofer concentration camp for bogus claim of incitement and collecting military means (used grenades thrown at us in demonstrations). During the week, the media continued daily to refer to the expanding non-armed Palestinian struggle, and the role of Anarchists Against the Wall and other Israeli radicals (nearly always referring to Bil'in fifth yearly anniversary). The state force efforts to prevent us from coming to the joint struggles was criticized - may be this was the reason they did not try it this Friday. Though some scheduled activities were canceled because of the heavy rains (Ma'asara, Beit Umar) other activities did not yield to the whether: Bil'in, Hebron, Nebi Salih, Ni'ilin, Tel Aviv. Some said the third Intifada - this time non-armed, already started... Some were only afraid it may start. ... read full story / add a comment

The Israeli state and its forces knew that the joint struggle of the anarchists against the wall and the Bil'in popular comity against the separation fence means trouble. They tried hard to extinguish the flame of the struggle when it just started. They vacillated along the years between the various repression measures - limited by the Israeli public opinions, but failed. They used the Bil'in village as a testing field for "non lethal" means for dispersion of crowds... They resigned in dismay to see the joint non armed struggle expand to other villages and to other aspects of occupation. Even this weekend, in parallel to the special mobilization for the 5th anniversary demonstration in Bil'in, we had the joint demos in Maasara, Ni'ilin' Nabi Saleh, and Sheikh Jarrah. During the week there were involvements in Sheikh Jarrah. There were tree planting in the Ma'asara region (including Saturday). Friday joint actions were in Bil'in, Ma'asara, Nsbi Salih, Ni'ilin, Sheikh Jarrah. Saturday was another day of action within Israel south in the Bedwin region. Demonstrators on their way to Ni'ilin, Bil’in, and Ma’asara villages had long waits, much questioning at checkpoints and some could not arrive there. On the next Friday there will be the fifth year anniversary in Bi'lin. General mobilization is planed for the demonstration both in the Palestinian west bank and in Israel. State forces harassments on the way to the demonstration is expected. [Italiano] ... read full story / add a comment

The joint struggle keep expanding. We had again the Friday demonstrations in Bilin, Nebi Salah, Ni'ilin, Ma'asara, and a Sheikh Jarrah... with many participating in two of them. The refusnics struggle continue with Emelia replacing Or released from the army after three terms in prison. More invitation for the anarchists Against the Wall to join struggles are received and activists participate during the week in Sheikh Jarrah and in court solidarity at Ofer military hearings (of Bil'iners mainly). At the south, both within Israel and the occupied west bank the struggle do not stop though no regular Friday action(s) there. On Friday we mobilized to Bilin, Ma'asara, Nabi Saleh, Ni'ilin, and Sheikh Jarrah. The weekend activity expand in spite of increased repression by state forces. Increased repression in Bil'in and She Nabi Saleh did not deter the joint struggle as it did not succeeded in Ni'ilin. In Sheikh Jarrah the transfer/eviction of Palestinian families replacing them by settlers resulted in protracted struggle in the week days for months and expanding demonstrations on Fridays. The efforts of police to put end to the Friday demonstrations back fired and even the more radical circles of the Zionist left joined us this Friday. [Italiano] ... read full story / add a comment

The AAtW activists were busy during the week in court solidarity in Ofer military prison and with the families of Sheikh Jarrah. Special invitation of the AAtW for this Friday five main demonstrations resulted in the more than usual mobilization to Bil'in (50) and Maasara 30 - in addition to Ni'ilin (10) and the new location Nebi Saleh (5). More than half of these 90 activists continued to the Sheikh Jarrah to join others who went directly there.) State forces seems to start worrying even more last few weeks and increased significantly the persecution of our Palestinian partners. Saturday/Sunday 20:00 - About 200 people came to a prison solidarity demonstration. About 03:30 they were released without any condition and been received warmly by the 60 who remained till the end. Sheikh Jarrah and other locations in East Jerusalem were in the focus: both during the week and in the Friday demons. The Friday demonstrations in Ni'ilin and Ma'asara continued in spite of Israeli state forces to smother them. In Bil'in the state forces continued their harassments of the popular comity - both with activists in jail and "visits" to the village in the week's nights. Wallaje flames rise again in response to renewed efforts to annex more lands to the expanding settlers neighborhoods of south east Jerusalem. Nabi-Saleh had another Friday demonstration in the village struggle against annexation of its lands to the adjacent Halamish settlement. In Budrus - a village that fought in the past successfully against robbery of its lands, youth are confronting the state forces. [Italiano] ... read full story / add a comment

The Gaza week started on previews Saturday demo in Jaffa, continued with Sunday march to Gaza on the shore... Tuesday in Be'er Sheva university, Thursday at Erez road block and this Saturday in Tel Aviv. As usual, in addition to the regular Friday demonstrations in Bilin, Ma'asara, and Ni'ilin, we were invited to Friday in the Bidu region and Saturday in Saffa. The Refusnics struggle continue with one of them serving another month in military jail. The authority indignation and the extreme right continue to be in the public media, with vacillating steps of authority to restrict our various actions. Part of the "left leaning media" give us exposure: "A film about our friend David Reeb, was done for channel 8, by filmmaker David Ofek. Next Friday it will be a screening in Tel Aviv Cinematheque." The struggle in Sheikh Jarah during the week intensify and number of participants in Friday demonstration there more than doubled... in spite of rainy whether. Other villages like Krayut, Nizaam, and Shuqba, invite us to join their struggles against aspects of the occupation. Bil'in, the prominent flag of the non violent popular struggle still suffer along the week "visits" and harassments of the various Israeli occupation forces. Ma'asara, and Ni'ilin still persist in struggle. Refusnics struggle continued too. The "hungry" settler colonialist aspect of Zionism backed by Israeli High court of "justice" protection of land ownership of pre 1948 era in Sheikh Jarah, put back on the focus of the agenda the theft of Palestinian parts and Jerusalem neighborhoods at 1948. This week the struggle around the transfer from Sheikh Jarrad neighborhood (east Jerusalem) become more intensive and got lot of media attention. Activists from Tel Aviv reinforced during the week Jerusalem comrades and internationals. On Friday the mobilization to Sheikh Jarrah involved in addition to activists of Jerusalem, comrades attending an hour earlier demonstrations in Bil'in, Ma'asara, and human rights demo in Tel Aviv. The Wednesday struggle in Ni'ilin, was a bit less intense after a high concrete wall was built along the main part of the separation fence. It was the first time state forces did not use shooting of bullets and used only tear gas. In Bil'in, in spite of the arrest of the head of the popular comity (we demonstrated against it on Thursday in TA) we had Friday demonstration and tear gas as usual.
