OSL comrades arrested in Parana

Press release from the OSL in Argentina following the arrest of 3 comrades last week.

On Monday 27th June, four comrades (3 male and 1 female) were stopped by police while they were engaged in painting a mural to commemorate the anniversary of the massacre at Pueyrredon Bridge organized by the Paraná branch of the OSL. In a spectacular police operation, the comrades were driven to the main police station, where they were charged with the crime of causing damage to public property. The OSL Paraná believes that these arrests are not by chance. One of the arrested anarchist comrades is president of the Faculty of Humanities Students' centre. This students' centre last week began a plan of struggle to obtain more study grants and to obtain once and for all final approval for the validity at a national level of qualifications granted by the UADER. This is how bourgeois "justice" works: while the deaths of Darío and Maxi continue to go unpunished, social fighters are arrested and tried for using the people's means of communication - grafitti.

In another episode of repression, unconnected but again featuring the State's forces of repression, Leonardo Santillán, Dario's brother, received death threats outside his house from a member of a group of policemen who visited his home in Lanús.

The only way to avoid the persecution of comrades is through mass mobilization and class solidarity.

* Stop the threats, the repression in the neighbourhoods and the political trials of those who struggle against injustice!
