Revolutionary Anarchism: class struggle and the fight against all forms of oppression

category international | the left | feature author Monday October 01, 2007 20:50author by Wayne Price - NEFAC (personal capacity)author email drwdprice at aol dot com Report this post to the editors

The following articles argue for a class-struggle perspective, with two basic points: that all oppressions, class and non-class, should be fought against and that working class struggles are, in certain ways, central to an overall perspective. This is due to an analysis of class and non-class oppressions and the ways they interrelate, which produces a strategic and moral orientation.

What is Class-Struggle Anarchism?

Part 1: Why the Working Class

Reasons for a working-class perspective. What is wrong with a non-class perspective. Rooting class-struggle anarchism in an analysis of capitalism, a strategic orienation, and a moral perspective.

Part 2: The Relation Between the Working Class and Non-class Oppressions

Why do we call ourselves class-struggle anarchists instead of feminist- antiracist-Gay liberationist-green-class struggle anarchists? What is the relationship among class and non-class forms of oppression, such as gender and race? Instead of the base/superstructure metaphor, we should a model of an overlapping network of oppressions, of which class is at the center. This leads to strategic conclusions.
