Bil'in, Ni'ilin, Ma'asara, Nebi Saleh, Qaddum, Shikh Jarrah and the South of Hebron Hills

The bad news are that the overwhelming majority of the Israelis support it - including the centrists and even the Zionist left (who claim they want "two states" solution but with impossible pre conditions). The good news are that the imperial powers whose support to the status qua are gradually yielding to public opinions pressure of their citizens who do not agree with the Israeli apartheid-transferor regime. The non armed joint struggle initiated wide attention and drew participants from all over the world with international movement dedicated to put end to the Israeli occupation. (A short video about two kids in Bil'in got in few days two million views.). The anarchists against the wall and other like minded among the palestinians and abroad still struggle for the end of the Zionist settler colonialist/transferor project and not just for the end of 1967 occupation. Bil'in

Friday, 25-12-15, Last demo in 2015 in Bil'in. 4 members of the anarchist-communist organization Ahdut (Unity) joined 10 activists of the anarchists against the wall initiative and 3 internationals with the local activists.
The Israeli state force were few and less belligerent than usual, They "allowed" us to approach the old route of the separation fence and even to photograph the form declaring the location as closed military zone. The wind was friendly and the state force were not "generous" with the tear gas grenade. After about an hour the state force went away and the demo ended.

Friday 8-1-16, 11 Israelis with the anarchists against the wall initiative and the anarcho-communist Ahdut (Unity) joined international activists and the villagers in the weekly demo. Just as we started marching down the hill the Israeli state forces started to shower us with tear gas and sponge coated bullets. After about 30 minutes of confrontation the state force went away and we declared another victory.

Qaddum

Thanks to all the friends who called to check if I was at the shooting in tlv today!
In fact I was at a mass shooting, happy to escape unharmed, today and many days in the past. But it was in a civil protest for solidarity freedom and equality of Palestinians, and the shooters wore uniform. So hardly anybody cares....

Don't say we did not know #479

On Saturday, 12th December, 2015, a shepherd from Umm Jamal, in the northern West Bank Jordan Valley, herded his flock a few kilometres from the settlement Maskiot. Settlers were hiking in the area with three dogs; one of the dogs attacked the shepherd, biting him in the leg. The shepherd required medical treatment.

On Wednesday, 23rd December, 2015, IDF soldiers came to the Palestinian village Khirbet Umm El-Jamal, near El-Maleh, in the Jordan Valley, and demolished a sheepfold that had been built by one of the residents so his sheep were protected against the rain and cold. They warned him not to dare to rebuild it.

On Thursday, 24th December, 2015, government representatives escorted by police came to demolish El'Araqib, yet again.

Confiscation of land in the West Bank or its declaration as state land is a lengthy procedure. Seldom do we learn about these activities as they are happening in real time. I regard land confiscation and its declaration as state land to be a matter of special importance, for the simple reason that these are “legal” means to get the Palestinians’ feet off the land. Driving Palestinians from their land is at the heart of the conflict.

On 30th December, 2015, Palestinians reported the confiscation of 300 dunums (dunum=1000 sq.m) of land belonging to the Palestinian village Fasayil, in the Jordan Valley. To the best of our knowledge, the land was proclaimed state land in 1999, and is situated just over a kilometre north of the settlement Yafit. During the past year, settlers planted palm trees there and established a plant nursery, using about 250 dunums.

Don't say we did not know #482

On 22nd December, 2015, the IDF started carrying out earthworks on the lands of Shufa, next to the military base near Avnei Hefetz settlement. The Palestinian landowners were given no prior notice as to the incursion onto their land. It is worth noting that the settlement Avnei Hefetz was established in 1987 on 44 dunums. Today it spreads across some 3,000 dunums, expropriated from local Palestinian villages (dunum=1000 sq.m). The Palestinian landowners whose land borders the settlement are only permitted limited access to their land.

On Wednesday, government representatives, under police escort, went to the Bedouin village Rakhme, next to Yeruham, and demolished a mosque.
