Solidarity with the repressed comrades in Belgium and everywhere.

On 22 May 2013, dozens of policemen from the anti-terrorism division of the federal criminal police in Brussels raided and searched the homes of 3 anarchist and anti-authoritarian comrades as well as the "Acrata" anarchist bookshop. All those found on the premises (11 in total) were arrested and brought to the federal police station. They are charged with belonging to a terrorist organization, conspiracy and arson. At around 1 pm they were all released without having to appear in court. [French]

This new attack against the libertarian movement is only the latest of a long series of repressive acts. The day before yesterday in Greece, then in Spain and now in Belgium; faced with rising anger from the people, the State knows only too well how to respond: with batons and prison. The more the system plunges into crisis, the greater the State's authoritarianism. The so-called anti-terrorism laws passed after September 11 are used to reduce our freedom and lock us into the fortress of home security. In order to save this rotten system, the State has one choice alone, and that is to make increasing use of violence. This reveals its class-based nature and its role as a guarantor of order for Capital. Throughout Europe, the capitalist States prefer to support directly or indirectly the most reactionary fringes of the bourgeoisie against those who want to resist.

These attacks are particularly aimed at those means of protest (such as house occupations, destruction of GM crops, factory occupations) which lie outside the established norms of protest. All over Europe, the powers strike first at those who do not wait to participate in an election in order to protest, those who refuse to equate the politicians' struggles with the political struggles.

We will not bow to State repression. Alternative Libertaire expresses its complete solidarity with our comrades who have been hit by the machine of repression in Belgium and everywhere!

If oppression knows neither limits nor borders, our solidarity too must be international!
