Colombian Army illegally detains MARIBEL OVIEDO, peasant organiser of ASTRACATOL

On March 03, 2013,in the village of La Esmeralda, in the municipality of Rovira (Tolima), the peasant organiser Maribel Oviedo was illegally detained, without an arrest warrant, by membes of the Infantry Batallion VI. She is member of the Association of Rural Workers of Tolima (ASTRACATOL).
This arrest took place while our comrade was doing her usual work, meeting peasants members of ASTRACATOL in that region of the department.
Our comrade is now being held prisoner in a civilian estate called Cebastacol, in the village of Esmeralda, in the municipality of Rovira, Tolima. There is no arrest warrnt against her and she was not doing any illegal actions.
Our comrade Maribel Oviedo is mother of a 4 months old baby.
We demand her immediate release and the respect of her fundamental rights. We demand that the army stops its constant violations of international humanitarian law.
